About 50 protesters gathered outside the Minneapolis offices of U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Tuesday, demanding that she vote against a $33 billion supplemental appropriation for the war in Afghanistan.

I know, Rats lying in this debate is fish in a barrel, but I thought this one especially egregious. Amy Klobuchar is one of the dimmer bulbs in the Senate. She claimed yesterday to Chris Wallace in response to a question about the broad unpopularity of this bill, that Medicare was even MORE unpopular when it was passed, with only 28% supporting it. This struck me as pretty far fetched, given the lopsided vote for it. Sure enough, she had the numbers exactly transposed. Stupidity or mendacity? You decide.

Sprayed in black on the wooden siding of the garage behind the couple's St. Paul home, in letters nearly a foot high: "U R A CRIMINAL RESIGN OR ELSE! DFL U.S. Senate candidate Amy Klobuchar continues to hold a dominant lead over GOP rival Mark Kennedy, 56 to 32 percent, in the latest Minnesota Poll, a margin similar to the one she had in July. Independence Party candidate Robert Fitzgerald remains at 3 percent; other candidates garnered less than 1 percent.
