Hunter Biden’s connections to the New York art scene reportedly go through lingerie entrepreneur Zoe Kestan, otherwise known as @weed_slut_420 on Instagram. President Joe Biden’s 51-year-old scandal-plagued son is venturing into the art world, with Soho art dealer Georges Bergès, who reportedly has some ties to China, holding a private viewing for Hunter’s artwork in Los Angeles, followed by an art exhibition in New York in the fall. Hunter has reportedly been working on his art full time, and his pieces, Bergès told Artnet, will “range from $75,000 for works on paper to $500,000 for large-scale paintings.” Hunter’s gateway into...

...This month, painter and photographer Richard Prince reminded us that what you post is public, and given the flexibility of copyright laws, can be shared — and sold — for anyone to see. As a part of the Frieze Art Fair in New York, Prince displayed giant screenshots of other people’s Instagram photos without warning or permission. The collection, “New Portraits,” is primarily made up of pictures of women, many in sexually charged poses. They are not paintings, but screenshots that have been enlarged to 6-foot-tall inkjet prints. According to Vulture, nearly every piece sold for $90,000 each. How is...

George Zimmerman continues to be an attention starved horrible human being. Zimmerman has continued to keep himself in the public eye since being acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin–and now he wants us to know that even he thinks the justice system is a joke. Just a month ago, in between run ins with the police, Zimmerman decided he fancied himself a painter and sold a painting on eBay. It was an American flag, with the words “God One Nation with Liberty and Justice For All.” It sold for $100,099.99. His follow up painting is even more appalling, classless,...

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The US Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit against actress Elizabeth Taylor for owning a Van Gogh painting that a Jewish woman lost before fleeing Nazi Germany to South Africa in 1939. The lawsuit was filed by the Canadian and South African descendants of the original owner, Margarete Mauthner. Taylor, 75, purchased Vincent Van Gogh's 1889 painting "View of the Asylum and Chapel at Saint-Remy" at a London auction in 1963 for 257,600 dollars. The painting is currently estimated at between 10 and 15 million dollars. The suit alleged Taylor must have known when she bought...
