This day in history in 1984 something happened that started a chain of events that culminated in a decision I speculate would never happen today. It was big news in the the big apple and all across the country. On December 22, 1984, Bernhard Goetz shot and wounded four young black men on a New York City subway train, saying they were about to rob him. The four teens were Barry Allen, Troy Canty, Darrell Cabey, and James Ramseur, all shot and wounded by Goetz after they accosted him on a New York City Subway train in Manhattan.Goetz was charged with...

Police said a man is claiming self-defense after shooting three teens while riding on a SEPTA bus in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday. Investigators said the three teenagers were in a physical altercation with the shooter while riding on the Route 58 SEPTA bus around 1 a.m. Police are still working to determine what led to the altercation and shooting. Investigators said the three teens approached a 24-year-old man who was sitting in the back of the bus. For some reason, they got into a physical altercation, and during that time police said the victim ended up shooting each of the teens.

Bernard Goetz became famous for his Dec. 1984 jaw dropping 5 shot quick fire response to four black assailants in a Manhattan subway car with his unlicensed .38 caliber J frame Smith and Wesson revolver. Goetz hit all four of the “youths” who, when the shooting occurred on that NY City # 2 train, had fourteen criminal bench warrants against them. Q: Based on what you’ve been through between Dec.22nd 1984 and today, if you were faced with the same situation now would you shoot them again and how would you have acted differently? “If I was carrying a gun,...

If the definition of a conservative is a liberal who's been mugged, look for Mika Brzezinski to start sounding like Pat Buchanan. The big news on Morning Joe today is that Mika got mugged. Not mugged by reality. Mugged mugged. The MJ co-host was outside her Washington, DC early this morning, waiting for the car to take her to the studio, when a man approached and told her to give him $20 "and you won't get hurt." Mika gave her everything she had-$6-and the man went away. Mika didn't want the news to be mentioned, but Joe Scarborough insisted. Brzezinski...

NEW YORK (AP) -- Twenty years after the Barnhard Goetz subway shooting ignited a national furor over racism, gun control, crime and vigilante justice, New York is a far different place, and the sensational case now exists mostly as an artifact from another era. On Dec. 22, 1984, Goetz, a meek-looking white man, rose from his seat on the No. 2 train, and shot four black youths, sparking a national outrage. Many who were involve in the case say it's difficult to imagine a repeat of such an episode in today's New York. "Could it happen now?" asked attorney Ron...

That's right...an "instructional thriller." Bernhard Goetz, the infamous Subway Vigilante, who shot and killed(sic) four black teenagers in 1984 because he thought they were going to mug him, will star in the indie film, "Every Move You Make." "Every Move You Make" concerns Casey, a young woman who is hounded by a perverted stalker who knows everything she does. Goetz plays a self-defense instructor on a videotape that Casey rents when she feels that her life is in danger. I guess it was either that or "Death Wish," right? "Basically, the film is an instructional thriller." explains Glenn Andreiev, the...
