Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND Action weighed in today on the controversy over the firing of Shirley Sherrod, a black Agriculture Department official abruptly dismissed for alleged racist remarks captured on edited video footage. Once the full video was aired and her speech was put in context, officials realized that they acted prematurely and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack publicly apologized.
