Yesterday, both President Biden and former President Trump both visited the border. Trump reportedly talked to Laken Riley's family, Biden stumbled around with his cheat sheet (and talked about climate change). The disastrous border bill pushed by Biden seems to be DOA, thankfully, and Trump may have had a hand in its demise. But the journalist class is mad at Trump for playing politics. Thankfully, Elon Musk calls it like it is: People who get their news from legacy TV live in a fake alternate reality. Those so-called “toughest reforms” would have made invasion-level migration permanent. That diabolical “Border Bill”...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan border package Wednesday, scuttling months of negotiations with Democrats on legislation intended to cut back record numbers of illegal border crossings. Many Republicans said the election-year compromise wasn't enough, even as supporters of the bill insisted it was the best possible in divided government. The 49-50 vote, far short of the 60 ayes needed to take up the bill, came after most Republicans said they would vote against the legislation, which also includes $60 billion in wartime aid to Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel and was backed by President Joe Biden. GOP lawmakers...

As President Joe Biden’s border crisis continues, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is calling a measured proposed in the U.S. Senate “a complete disaster.” The proposal is supposed to tighten current immigration and asylum laws, but also fast-tracks eligible asylum claims. “The open borders policies it enshrines would destroy our country,” posted Paxton on X. In addition to encouraging nearly 2 million illegal aliens annually to enter the country, paying out over $1 billion to the toxic NGOs that settle illegal immigrants all over the nation, empowering Mayorkas to abuse the asylum process on his arbitrary whim, and ending catch-and-release,...

RINO Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) has found himself again at the center of a political storm as an old deposition testimony resurfaced, coinciding with his involvement in a compromised uniparty border bill. The senator, who has been a key player in pushing for the so-called “Invasion Authorization Act,” has faced a backlash over comments from a 2010 deposition suggesting his belief that a 13-year-old could consent to sex. ..... Snip..... During his time as director of youth programming at Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center, a 13-year-old girl’s family brought a lawsuit against a 15-year-old boy for an alleged sexual assault...

Biden brought tens of thousands of Afghans to America. These were not for the most part “allies” or anyone who had worked with us. They were just the ones who made it to the airport and if anyone vetted them, it was only the Taliban who controlled access. But Biden brought them and the Senate keeps trying to legalize them even though there’s no basis for it.At last count around 36,000 Afghans or 40% of the “refugees” had no legal basis for being evacuated even after the Biden administration and its congressional allies, both Democrat and Republican, watered down standards for...

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Republicans are opposing the bipartisan border deal because they are “scared to death” of former President Donald Trump. Schumer said, “It’s a turning point. History is going to look over our shoulders and say did we rise to the occasion. To his credit Mitch McConnell did, but too many Republicans including Speaker Johnson are just scared to death of Donald Trump. Donald Trump has said he wants chaos. Donald Trump has said, well, wait till I become president. That will take at least a year. Ukraine could...

A trio of senators on Sunday released a bipartisan immigration agreement with the White House that would give the president far-reaching powers to clamp down on unlawful border crossings, including the authority to turn away migrants without allowing them to request asylum. The President always had the power. That’s the first lie. Saying the President pivoted is the next lie. It’s an appearance of a pivot to get funding for foreign nations while giving very little to the USA. It’s also throwing a lifeline to Joe Biden to help him get elected. CBS claims it restricts the asylum system. It...

This week, the Senate is supposedly voting on the biggest immigration overhaul in decades. That is a polite way of saying that US workers are on the chopping block. The Senate’s “border deal” is a terrible bargain hashed out behind closed doors, one that sells out the American working class in favor of illegal immigrants, the biggest corporations, and Wall Street. To appreciate the harms that would befall workers from this bill, we’d do well to look to one of the heroes of the modern left: Cesar Chavez. A co-founder of the United Farm Workers, Chavez is remembered today as...

My colleague Bonchie wrote on some of the problems in the Senate border bill earlier. As more comes out, it's even worse than people thought. People have been talking about the emergency provisions kicking in to shut down the border at 5,000 illegal aliens on average over seven consecutive days or 8,500 in one day. You have the discretion to activate it at an average of 4,000 a day over seven consecutive days, but you have to activate it at 5,000. And yes, that's ridiculous because you should just be applying the provision to enforce the law from the first...

Sunday released the details of a long-awaited comprehensive border security bill, which also contains a substantial foreign aid component. The discussions, led by Senators James Lankford (R-OK), Krysten Sinema (I-AZ), and Chris Murphy (D-CT), come after months of negotiations with the Biden regime, seeking to address both the ongoing crisis at the U.S. southern border and foreign policy commitments abroad. The 370-page deal, according to Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, claims it reflects weeks of good-faith negotiations, balancing domestic concerns with urgent international aid needs. “As Ukraine runs low on ammunition to fend off Putin’s...

On Sunday the US Senate finally released James Lankford’s Joe Biden approved open borders bill to screw Americans. The so-called border bill gives $60 billion to Ukraine and only $20 billion to US border security. The bill ensures that the US borders remain open indefinitely with 5,000 allotted illegals a day and whoever else manages to make it across. This bill was designed by Lankford and Senate Republicans along with Chuck Schumer to give power to Democrats and bail out Joe Biden who opened the borders in his first act as president. Lankford went on with Jake Tapper on CNN...

The Senate’s emergency appropriations bill released on Sunday won’t address the border crisis, and contrary to the accomplice media’s spin, the spending bill won’t “severely curtail asylum at the US southern border.”The bill could have had the Senate reclaim the reins of lawmaking from the executive and judicial branches and clarify that widespread criminality in another country is not a basis for asylum in America. Instead, the 370-page bill, the “Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024,” includes funding for both Israel and Ukraine, plus decidedly insufficient provisions for addressing aliens and immigration. The backers of the Senate bill seek to...

The deal includes provisions to raise standards for asylum screening and to process claims faster, ends the practice known as “catch and release,” and provides a new authority to close the border when crossings reach a set threshold. The full supplemental — which includes funds for the border, Israel and Ukraine aid, and other foreign policy priorities — totals $118 billion, with about $20 billion going to the border component. Lankford called it “a once-in-a-generation opportunity to close our open border and give future administrations the effective tools they need to stop the border chaos and protect our nation.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson will introduce a bill to send $17.6 billion to Israel in emergency aid without corresponding spending cuts amid a fight over border security. The first standalone Israel aid package voted on included IRS cuts, which of course received heavy backlash by Democrats and was rejected by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. The new Israel funding bill will exclude the IRS cuts. "While the Senate appears poised to finally release text of their supplemental package after months of behind closed doors negotiations, their leadership is aware that by failing to include the House in their negotiations, they...

Under no circumstances should this bill — which would make massive, permanent changes to immigration law — be passed next week.Yesterday, a reporter standing outside the Senate chamber told me that, after four months of secrecy, The Firm™️ plans to release the text of the $106 billion supplemental aid / border-security package—possibly as soon as tomorrow. Wasting no time, she then asked, “if you get the bill by tomorrow, will you be ready to vote on it by Tuesday?” The words “hell no” escaped my mouth before I could stop them. Those are strong words where I come from. (Sorry,...

The Senate on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a bipartisan $4.5 billion bill to combat the escalating humanitarian crisis on the southern border, moments after rejecting a House version over its restrictions on enforcement efforts -- setting up a race to reconcile the two measures before Congress leaves town. The Senate bill passed 84-8. That vote in the Republican-controlled chamber came minutes after the House version was voted down 55-37. It's unclear what will come next. The Senate vote could put pressure on the Democrat-controlled House to pass its version before Congress breaks for the July 4 recess. Or the two chambers...
