The world's richest man, Elon Musk, has scented a new opportunity to capitalise on quirky products, launching a perfume called Burnt Hair that he said sold 10,000 bottles to earn a million dollars in just a few hours. "With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable – why did I even fight it for so long!?" Musk asked on Twitter, where he now describes himself as a perfume salesman. "The essence of repugnant desire" is the website description of his latest offering, which costs $100 a bottle and is set to start shipping in the first...

  • Elon Musk's Boring Company will build a 34-mile tunnel network underneath Las Vegas

The Boring Company's underground transportation system will be more expansive than what it originally planned. The Elon Musk-founded company has just received approval from the city to bring its underground transportation system called the Vegas Loop to city limits. When Clark County Commissioners first approved the Vegas Loop, it was supposed to be a 29-mile tunnel network connecting 51 stations. Now, the network will span 34 miles and have a total of 55 stations, including ones that will serve the Harry Reid International Airport and the Allegiant Stadium. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Boring Co. President Steve Davis said...

SAN ANTONIO — Bexar County leaders will study whether Elon Musk's Boring Co. can drill a 9-mile tunnel where automated Teslas would ferry people between the airport and downtown. Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (RMA) board members voted Wednesday to negotiate a project plan with the billionaire's company. "The board has continually sought innovative ways to finance transportation projects to ensure a bright future for the community in a way that bridges technology and accelerates the delivery of needed projects," chairman Mike Lynd said in a statement. "Today's board action is the first of many discussions," he added. Musk's company already...

Pixel Masters use fast processing and video wizardry to map the dynamic, seemingly alive face of Elon Musk onto the visage of the astronaut movie actor in the, "open the pod bay doors, Hal"-scene from the movie Space Odyssey, 2001. Freepers will wonder about implications for the 2020 Election: If hobbyists working in their garage in their free time can do this, what might desperate media libs pull a year from now using high-end computing power..? What might an entity at the STATE level be capable of..? "Elon's" lips perfectly match the dialogue. How soon will we see a...

Will a hyperloop work in Pennsylvania? That’s the question officials from legislative and executive branches, statewide agencies, organizations and departments, as well as a handful of private business leaders are trying to answer. Fifty people, invited to a workshop at Dixon University in Harrisburg on Wednesday, met to talk about the possibility of building a hyperloop system in the commonwealth. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has until April 2020 to complete a $2 million state-legislative commissioned study on its viability. Media wasn’t permitted to attend the invitation-only meeting. According to the turnpike’s research, a hyperloop combines a magnetic levitation train and...

Critics of California’s plan to link the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas by high-speed rail have cited the estimated cost of the project – and now that cost is projected to increase by about $2 billion, according to a report. The state’s High-Speed Rail Authority now estimates that the plan will cost about $79 billion – with the price of the Central Valley segment already under construction rising from $10.6 billion to $12.4 billion, Bloomberg reported. The revised cost estimates were attributed to changes in the scope of the project and planning for contingencies, the report said.

Just over eight months ago, the billionaire Elon Musk executed one of the more daring PR stunts in recent memory: he literally shot a car into space. For Musk, this no doubt marked a high water mark in good publicity. Here, as a symbol of American ingenuity, was Musk himself sending the most powerful rocket ever designed by his company, SpaceX, into orbit, with its payload also being a product that Musk manufactured. What’s more, that payload was sent to be launched into Mars’ orbit, meaning that one of the first things any potential future travelers to Mars would see would...
