At least three students were killed and eight others were injured after a 15-year-old boy opened fire inside Oxford High School in a Detroit suburb. Stories about bravery and heroics among teachers and students are beginning to surface. One video, which you can watch below, shows students locked inside a classroom — when suddenly someone knocks on the door. “Sheriff’s office,” the voice said. “It’s safe to come out.” Someone inside the classroom wisely told the officer they were not willing to take that risk. The “officer” then told students, “Okay, well open the door and look at my badge,...

Jamal Khashoggi hated America and Jews. That’s why Biden loves him. Secretary of State Antony Blinken began his confirmation hearing by reciting a family history of antisemitism. A month later he unveiled a ban named in the memory of an antisemite. “Jamal Khashoggi paid with his life to express his beliefs,” Blinken claimed. Those beliefs that Khashoggi gave his life for included his contention that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion were real, and that Jews were deceivers with no connection to Israel. It also included the Muslim Brotherhood member’s support for the Hamas war against Israel. Last October,...

It’s a warm summer evening and Devan Clapp is standing outside his two-story brick row house in northeast Baltimore’s Ramblewood neighborhood. The streets are quiet, with postage-stamp lawns; a transition area between the city and the suburbs of Baltimore County just a couple miles north. This neighborhood, like every other Baltimore neighborhood Clapp’s family has lived in the last hundred years, was predominantly white, before it wasn’t. He talks of how, in the 1980s, the skin color of his mother and father, godmother and brother, drove their white neighbors up and over to the “more-welcoming” side of the county line....

STEVENSVILLE - Parading with Bitterroot Valley Republican groups in her Hummer, Cathy Kulonis said she was exercising her First Amendment rights Saturday when she hoisted a sign reading “No Mo Bro” during Creamery Picnic festivities here. In response to angry requests to remove the sign, and contentions that it carried unsavory racial overtones regarding President Barack Obama, Kulonis held her ground, referring to those who complained as “red-faced maniacs” and “liberal extremists.” When the parade committee chairman requested that she remove her sign, she once again stood fast and refused to put it away. “I was just smiling and greeting...

It might be offensive, but it isn't illegal. That's the conclusion police reached about a campaign sign in unincorporated Kane County that contains a "racial slur" in reference to Barack Obama. The homemade sign, posted along a well-traveled stretch of Route 47 north of Lily Lake, shows a caricature of the nation's first black presidential nominee wearing red-colored hair and a red nose modeled after Chicago's famed Bozo the Clown. There's a red circle with a line through the Illinois senator's head and two words in all capital letters: "NO BROZOS."

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Don't Tase Me, Bro," a phrase that swept the nation after a U.S. college student used it seeking to stop campus police from throwing him out of a speech by Sen. John Kerry, was named on Wednesday as the most memorable quote of 2007. Fred R. Shapiro, the editor of the Yale Book of Quotations, said the plea made by University of Florida student Andrew Meyer on September 17, accompanied by Meyer's screams as he was tased, beat out the racial slur that cost shock jock Don Imus his job and the Iranian president's declaration that...

• Q2 jumps by 67 percent year over year • Buyers done in by ‘creative mortgages’ according to figures released Monday by Foreclosures.com, a Central Valley-based real estate investment advisory firm and publisher of foreclosure property information. "Year over year at the end of the second quarter of 2006, foreclosure activity in California has increased more than 67 percent," says Alexis McGee, president of Fair Oaks-based ForeclosureS.com. The once hot housing markets in Las Vegas and Phoenix are cooling off rapidly and defaults there are on the rise as well, she says. "Both Las Vegas and Phoenix were impacted by...

Perhaps it's time to recolonize the Middle East. If we get our NATO allies and Russia together with us on the same page and invade the entire Muslim Middle East and re-establish European run colonial governments, we could save a lot of money on oil and put an end to government sponsored terrorism. Together, this alliance would have 90% of the world's military might. Without the mother's milk of oil revenue, it will be far more difficult fot terrorists to obtain the financing for nuclear weapon development or purchase. Russia could administer Iran, France could administer Syria, Britain could administer...

Allow me a small amount of vanity bandwidth to explain why Phil will never win another Major Championship. Obesity. When he turned pro out of college he was slim, trim and flexible. His talent was amazing. Yes he has won twenty-odd tournaments, and yes he did win two Masters, but to see him striding the fairways of Medinah is to painfully watch a middle-aged couch-potato waddle slowly down the fairway as his ponderous breasts sag through his sweat-soaked shirt. He needs a Cosmo Kramer Bro! His face is bloated almost beyond recognition to his rookie year. His middle is a...

Democrats hold camp to train election activistsBy Lisa Vorderbrueggen CONTRA COSTA TIMES Posted on Sat, Mar. 18, 2006 Jim Dean, brother of ex-presidential candidate and Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, will deliver opening remarks today at a campaign activist training camp in Stockton, a site chosen because it's in one of a dozen congressional districts that Democrats hope to seize from Republicans this year. "Absolutely, we're in Stockton for a reason and that's Richard Pombo," said program director and East Bay Democracy for America volunteer Kathy Klein, referring to the seven-term incumbent Republican congressman. Nearly 200 people have signed up...

WANT to keep abreast of the latest in male fashion? Well, the message from Milan is to say goodbye to Mr Macho and hello to Mr Androgyny. The provocative direction ? featuring male models with fake breasts under figure-hugging knitwear ? was sent down the catwalk by outrageous British designer Vivienne Westwood in the mens' autumn winter 2003 shows held this week. And while the effect may look outrageous today, fashion commentators reckon Sydney men may just end up adopting it ? in a few years' time. Director of fashion at Sydney TAFE, Alison Mason, said while Westwood's designs...
