"...The ability to adapt rapidly remains one of America's competitive advantages. And since the onset of the financial crisis, both consumers and businesses have embraced the new reality. After digging themselves out of $20,000 in debt in 2007, Susannah Fater, her husband, David—a district manager at Staples—and their four children did something radical: they became an all-cash household. "Bills like groceries, gas, and allowance are taken out every month and put into envelopes so that we know exactly where we are financially," says Susannah..."

Home-schooled students successful at A&M Julie Weddle Posted: 8/30/06 For Ian Martinez, coming to Texas A&M and attending classes with hundreds of students was a big shock. "Last semester I had a class with 300 people," he said. "In junior college the biggest class I had was about 10 people." Martinez, a sophomore biomedical engineering major, was home-schooled with his family every day of his schooling except for one science class in junior high and his freshman year of college. "It made the family feel more closely knit," he said. "They're basically my best friends." Statistically, home-schooled students are academically...

Freepers, I value your opinion. I need a cell phone. Not one to use every day, one that I only use in case of emergency, like if I get lost or my car breaks down. I am considering one of those kinds in a package at Walmart with a pay as you go deal. I know they're more expensive per minute, but I will hardly ever use it. The other day I got lost on the way to a friend's house. I had no AC in my car and it was 101 degrees outside. I had to stop and get...
