  • Catholic commentators weigh in on Glenn Beck ‘Restore Honor’ rally and Tea Parties

‘Pastor Ted Hagee told the gathering—called America’s Divine Destinty—that a “politically correct fog” prevents Americans from encountering “the righteousness and moral clarity of our godly forefathers. And Patrick Lee, a bioethics professor at Franciscan University, issued a forceful denunciation of gay marriage and abortion rights.’

I found this on article from: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20100828/cm_yblog_upshot/glenn-beck-keeps-rally-more-historical-than-political

It sounds like he kinda dissed gay marriage by having this guy here. I didn’t hear the speech but I imagine Beck’s against it if he’s a true blue religious conservative. Then again I could be wrong.

Well I see your statement. I hope Beck is against gay marriage .... but yes America needs God. And yes we do need to restore honor.

That and we need to give the Muslims the boot before the hijack our country with Sharia law.

I’ll try and post more often if I find anything that is of substance and hasn’t been retread a gazillion times over ... we’ll see though but I might as well read more so that I can catch up.

I can imagine that there are people who purposefully post inflammatory subjects to divide Republicans over the issues that should be uniting them. That would the profile of a troll I would imagine and the reason for people to be suspicious and on guard. I know it was like that when I was on here before. True liberals/socialist/communists are a disease like, and I know this will cause a stir with some, Muslims. These trolls are no doubt apart of this. All they want to do is bring you down and pollute your values and hijack yoru country by taking you over. When it comes to this its best to keep your mind closed and on the guard. Muslism in the middle east are the enemy just the same as the Communist were and still are today. If given the chance they will take over and destroy you.

Obama will not be reelected I can almost bet mainly because the Tea Party is the angry American who has spoken out in anger over healthcare and the BS he has done and the change he failed to bank in on. I hope that when the tides turn again that we, Republicans, for those of you that are ones, can maintain power by fixing the corruption of the past and restore honor. Maybe I don’t see eye to eye with everyone here but I do think we need a strong common ground when it comes to who should be leading this country. Fiscal conservative leadership with moral conservative values and an emphasis on securing our nation’s borders and protecting from enemies both foreign and domestic. At the same time promoting our true allies in Europe and abroad. Those that we can find common ground on. Something that certainly a Democrat wouldn’t do and not a RINO either.

Ya stranger things have happened. I got out and went to college and then rejoined because I wanted back in due to the fact that I hated being a civilian. That and I wanted to do go back over there. You don’t have to believe me but I am not lying to you. Heck I’d meet you face to face if I could just to prove it to you. Some people have a problem adapting to being a civillian once they get out. I was one of them.

True I’m not Hannity fan mainly because after I decided to get an education I discovered that most of his statements were fallacious. I think I can agree with most that Hannity isn’t the best but I’d take Limbaugh any day over him. Of course my views have changed over the years but I don’t like Hannity. Though if he’s innocent which I’m starting to believe then hands off. I’d never stoop that low as to buying to crap that is false if it truly is and I believe that Schlussel now is after all the great posts... I’m out of touch ... mainly because I haven’t the time like I did to research like I once did .. I know I certainly don’t beleive any negative things about Oliver North either. I have nothign but the upmost respect for the Colonel as he has a lot of respect in the military community. Thanks FReepers for clueing me into this mess on Hannity by Schlussel.

Well I figured the best way was to go here. I’m not as saavy as some of you FReepers out here but I know you guys always read millions upon millions, ok maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but you’ve heavily anaylzed it so a guy like me can read up on it. I couldn’t find anything on this and maybe thats my fault because I’m behind times but I figured I’d ask ya’ll just to find out the scoop and the general feel about it.

Ya I can see that too. I know they have the moderate republicans or RINOs as I call them and the true conservatives who are on the verge of being a libertarian or flat-out being one. I guess GOP is the umberalla term for all those who vote for the Republicans.

Still I’d like to see someone articulate conservative values without going overboard and being uncredible.

No, I don’t have enough time to pay attention to politics like I use to. I’m in the Army having just returned from Afghanistan. I’m anything but that, I would like to see someone step up and represent the GOP and conservative values in the next election.

Hannity isn’t my favorite even still. I prefer Limbaugh overall and Glenn Beck occassionaly has said things I agree with. I do agree with his call for Americans to find God again at his ‘Restoring Honor’ rally a great message.

I know this is a rather old post but I was curious as to what most conservatives out there think of this. I don't know what to believe anymore about most of the attacks coming from people these days if there is any truth to this or not, but I think it is rather disheartening if not an eye opener if it is actually true about what is wrong with conservative politics. I really don't know what to think especially since the GOP puts up disasters such as, in my own opinion, Sarah Palin and John McCain. Perhaps the Republican party needs to return to its roots and do itself a favor by ridding itself of the corrupt, inept, and RINOs who are dragging it down. What it needs is a strong, articulate, and well informed leader who can help fix the economy and put the USA on a rebound. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd like to know what your thoughts are out there, FR.

Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Glenn Beck has always been a question mark to me but I thought he gave some fine words. And at least the people who left his rally were peaceful.

Yep, it will be like car insurance. One does have to admit that medical costs are extremly expensive .. perhaps if medical prices could go down and if more competition existed than we wouldn't have to have this push for universal health care. I've known people (albeit I think it is rather stupid) who have gone to Mexico because they'd rather pay a crappy doctor down there than one here in the USA. That enough is an indication that we have a problem here in the USA.

I think Pat is a Libertarian. And Libertarian and Conservative really aren't the same thing. The Libertarians are being pushed out of the party by the porkers.

Sean Hannity is awful. I'm ashamed I use to be a fan of his. He will never, never, never be like Rush.

Sean is the same old, same old and he isn't funny or cocky like the man with talent on loan from God. The nice guy crap is just that. Plus he never lets his guests or callers get a word in edge wise.

Plus, Sean doesn't take a stand on the key issues. He's dropped the ball on too many occasions. Yeah, he stood up for the borders kinda but he isn't a leader. He seems to bow down to the almighty altar of the GOP which seems to be against those who think limited and principled government should return to DC. Sometimes I wonder what being a conservative is. But I am a Reagan conservative.

If Bush sold his soul to Satan, Hannity would be right there to cover his ass I'm almost certain.

Well, my uncle is Dan Woods. He was a state trooper near Barstow which is close to Pecos. After returning from Iraq (in December) and upon retirement he was admitted into the Texas Rangers.

Yup, I'm not much of fan of the Liberal capital of Texas but we'll see how things end up going. My heart is with the BP but I can handle Austin too.

Well, I have thought of joining the BP. I may still yet do it. Considering taking some time off college to join the Police Force up in Austin. We shall see what the future holds. An Uncle of mine just made Texas Ranger and he could advise me on my options with the BP.

I hear Case Peidra is a nice little ghost town. One of these days I'll have to pack up my bags and take a drive out to West Texas and the Big Bend for a weekend.

Indeed though I am very adamant about our border situation. I wish our elected officials would wake up on this issue. If they do not then we the people must give them the pink slip and find candidates that will better represent us in both the House, Senate, and Washington DC.
