Theravada Buddhism, particularly in Southeast Asia, has traditionally adhered to binary gender roles and segregation of monks based on biological sex at birth. The Thai Sangha Council has attempted to ban ordinations of transgender people. However, Mahayana and Vajrayana schools have been more accommodating. The Jodo Shinshu sect has ordained transgender monks in Japan and North America. In Tibetan Buddhism, some teachers have refrained from asking about gender identity during ordination. Many Buddhist denominations in the West are intentionally inclusive of transgender people in their sanghas (communities). Classical Buddhist teachings viewed gender as fluid, with stories of individuals changing gender across lifetimes or within the same life due to karma. This was not seen as a hindrance to spiritual progress.
It’s like humanity is devolving to medieval times thanks nitwits in their social media echo chambers. My buddy knows a dude who thinks gorillas are fake and zoos are part of the global plot.
Spent all morning in lieu of TikTok ban laughing my ass off at these kooky flat-earth types like this bro. Can’t believe how prevalent this stuff is. Are these people serious? Apparently yes. I bumped into a lady the other day who was clearly influenced by it, jabbering about how space and even Australia is fake, which would be news to my Australian neighbors and brother who lived there. Not one for conspiracy theories, but this has to be conscious effort by China to turn Americans into child-like idiots. It’s fascinating how they twist “critical-thinking” and “doing their own research” into passionate support for absurd, quixotic (literal) world view. Truly frightening because if you believe the earth is a snow globe formerly populated by giant men, you’ll believe just about anything the ChiComs shovel your way. I’m sure there at least a couple firmament Freepers who will point out that I’m just an agent of Satanic NASA. These folks are long gone.

So it’s an action-heavy tribute to war journalism more than anything else. Deliberately plays coy on the specifics of the imagined scenario and beckons viewer to fill in the blanks themselves.
If you or some horny teenager want to use a “free” VPN that is selling your a data and putting ads and malware on your computer to make money go ahead. In any case, the point is it now requires at least some level of effort before kids in Texas swamp their brain with endless porn on the most prominent commercial sites, which seems reasonable to me.
It’s not a ban. They shut down access themselves. A VPN costs money, hence at least some leaky attempt at age verification, which was Texas AG’s goal anyway.
Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be thieves who make sex tapes with minors. Is this really the best Colorado can find to get a solid vote in there?
