I think David Clarke would have a shot at County Exec, but not mayor. It requires the support of the suburbs to keep on re-electing him. Even though he is African American, he does not receive the support of the AA community. What a surprise, huh?
I laughed when I heard that people were calling in to a talk radio station and requesting to hear the PSA, like it was a song. Sheriff Clarke is the best.
I think the Mormon thing (whatever that was) mattered to many in the long run. Catholics wavering because of the Obamacare mandate decided they couldn’t vote for a ‘cultist’. And, well, evangelicals are buying into the whole social justice thing. Just a hunch.

Powell burned his bridges with the GOP when he leaked Iraq info to the NYT while SoS under Bush and his endorsement of Obama in 2008. Maybe he is applying for Hillary’s job as Obama’s SoS, should he get re-elected.

I think there are still some old fashioned Democrats who are increasingly appalled by the current status of the party. The behavior of the current VP last night must have appalled them. This is the kind of thing that causes people to quietly tiptoe over to the other party. For me, it happened in 1992 when the DNC trotted out Bill Clinton.
I thought Lehrer was a godsend. His open ended questions allowed the debaters to lay out their visions. I am sick of having moderators who use their questions to further the left’s agenda. Recall how little Georgie S and Diane (the spider) Sawyer tried to tie their talking point cans to the various GOP candidates in the primary debate series.
I remember George S. being the one who kicked off the ‘war on women’ meme by asking Romney some ludicrous question about states passing laws that would make birth control illegal. Huh?
I absolutely despise Chris Wallace. If there is one place where the Romney-Ryan ticket should be able to get a fair hearing, it is on FOX. Since they have gone over to the dark side, I will no longer watch FNS.
I wish that were true. If a Republican wins, the media just keeps tearing at him until they have demoralized his supporters and made him ineffective. The things they did to George W. Bush were unspeakable.
