ping to you cowboy. I sure hope you remember the article you showed me a few months ago^^

I think everyone who joins the military forces of his country should know that there is always "dirty" work to do but as long as you´re representing/defending your country it´s your duty to do what you´re told. If you want to act like a politician then become one.

Europeans are not highly-esteemed by most here on Free Republic because we've finally figured out where you Euros are coming from and we now consider "Old Europe" — the chocolate makers and cuckoo-clock tinkerers — to be beneath our contempt.

I´m beneath your contempt? Well then why are you wasting your time replying to my comments. Thanks anyway for blessing me with your wisdom. Shall i start crawling in front of the new Herrenrasse mein Führer? Beneath you contempt, don´t make me laugh.

You've irritated one of the most veteran flame warriors on this forum, namely me, and — to paraphrase Harry Truman — if you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.

Oh now i´m trembling with fear. I´m here to discuss this issue. If you want to flame then go on. Freedom of speech remember? I consider flaming as beneath MY dignity.
May i quote Ali G? "Speak to the hand cause the face ain´t listening"
And yes i know this quote is childish, but so are your comments.

...on of the most veteran flame warriors...

I´ll remember that phrase. It´s just too funny.

This is another satire isn´t it? Come on you can´t be serious^^

Now i know what you are talking about. Take a look at our history. There´s no room here anymore for organised fascism. Yes this is a restriction to my freedom of speech but i think i´ll accept this one. This restriction dates back to the time when everyone hated us for what we had done to the jews. At that time it was necessary to take a stand against such elements in our society. If we remove it, everyone would think we forgot what happened.

btw could you please stop calling me Fritzl? I know you have your freedom of speech. It´s just a matter of politeness.

What Porterville was demonstrating is that we here in America — unlike you there in Europe — have freedom of speech.

And who exactly is restricting my freedom of speech here in Germany? Do your homework before you belittle me Uncle Sam.

I think that was his whole point. Do you need a laugh-track to cue you in on a joke?

No, just a few more english lessons and i´ll be fine.

We'll just begin posting articles to illustrate the resurgence of anti-Americanism, anti-Semitism and fascism in Europe in general and German in particular.

I think this would be a lot of work, but i think fascism is nothing you have to worry about in Germany and anti-semitism is reserved to some very special left wing forums but i wouldn´t consider them a threat. Their argumentation is so bad that even though their replies are in german i have a hard time to differ between "serious" and satires from people like you. After the "end" of the Iraq war anti-americanism is no topic here anymore. People here just don´t give damn as long as there are no tabloids(like the Bild for example) to stir their interest. We´re very busy with our own problems.

Oh, you are new. Get use to people joking around and shed that thin skin of yours or go to the DU where they just love being sensitive. P.S. screw the EU... I'm sorry was that mean???

Well i´m not thin-skinned, just in a bad mood today, so i was careless when i read your comment. Maybe i´m becoming an anti-american without realizing it (just kidding)
It´s sometimes just a bit difficult for me to discuss political matters in english so take it easy on me.

    >Screw you EU I HATE YOU you godless heathens. Your religion of anti individual, and communistic goals suck AND I am totally prejudicial to your philosophies. Ethnic ideantity??? Please, the only identity worth a sh!t is being American, you pale lazy communistic group of wasted potential. Your descent sucks since your ancestors weren't smart enough, like my own, to leave that heap of crap you call the EU.

Too bad you don´t seem to be half as smart as your ancestors. It´s been a long time since i´ve read such a primitive post. At least you´re only spreading your ideas in an american forum, otherwise you´d be an embarassement for your country. If one my people would write something like that about the USA, i would tear him apart before he´s able to embarasse my country like this. I know your resentments against us and i don´t feel like changing your mind, but i can´t stand someone like you insulting my ancestors. Your reply lacks any sort of arguments so it´s not even worth discussing it. Maybe foreign policy is a bit too difficult for you? Why don´t you start all over again? This time consult a more radical forum. I think they would appreciate your style.

I think all of you are exagerating a bit. There´s still no internet censorship in europe and i doubt it will be like in the article above. I´ve been lurking around at FR for some time now and i noticed that everytime there´s an article about how bad the bad things are going in your country you start complaining about how the media is wrong. Well there´s nothing worng with being skeptic, but everytime there´s an article like this about the EU you believe it right away. Everytime someone tries to spread the lie everyone here in Germany denies the crimes of their ancestors in WWII you believe it, even though it´s just crap from a little idiot who tries to sound like a "true" conservative. You show so much hatred against the EU that some of you stop thinking and start writing senseless replies like Mr "Ihatealleuropeans" Porterville.
Sorry for the provocative beginning of this reply but comments like that drive me insane.
If you are interested i would present information from other sources about this "censorship"

You´re right, i almost forgot all the the armor and ammunition the sowjets received from Britain and the US. The Nazis didn´t loose the war at Stalingrad. This is only a myth. They lost the war against the Sowjets when Hitler postponed Wehrmacht´s Operation Zitadelle which gave the Russians time to prepare a defensive line against this huge attack. As far as i know over 3 Million german soldiers where involved in this operation. Thank God Hitler was a lunatic who decided to wait for a handful of soldiers before he decided to attack. A successful Operation Zitadelle would have prolonged WWII and we would have suffered from a nuclear strike. Sorry if i´m again offtopic.

DeinBabbes didn't do a very good job of communicating it

Ok i admit it^^ I should have used other words.

However, if said German exchange students were mouthing the idiocies then being voiced by their government, methinks they got what they deserved. More details are required, and frankly, I suspect that BOTH were going on.

According to what i know about exchanges with the US they should have arrived in your country right before the iraq issue reached it´s climax and i doubt they wanted to spread Schröder´s words in the USA. There´s so much they want to see in your country when they start their journey, there´s no room for politics. Trust me, when i was in grade 10 my class was about to have an exchange with an american school as well so i think i know what exchange students are thinking when they´re about to go to the US. Too bad this american school lost interest in this exchange.

I live in Germany. While i was writing my first reply in this thread i forgot to mention i´m talking about Germany. I don´t know details about the other european countries, i just wanted to give you some information about the situation here. Maybe someone knows more about the other countries in Europe. Salaries alone can´t be responsible for this "brain drain".

Come on. You´re not serious about this headline, are you? Revenge is the wrong word. What´s wrong if we europeans try(!) to build up a small force? At least we would be able to clean in front of our door and you americans wouldn´t have to help us everytime the people on the balkan are at each others throats. I doubt anyone in Europe wants to get rid of the NATO, but i think it´s time we accept our responsibility. It can´t be that we have to rely on the US everytime there´s a conflict right here in Europe. I think it´s a shame the US had to help us during all these Balkan conflicts.

Like i said i have no problems with our defeat in WWII. I don´t want to start a discussion about WWII. In Germany we learn alot about the crimes our people did during that time. I just can´t stand if people always remind me of WWII and how i should feel ashamed of what happened instead of thinking about some arguments. What has WWII got to do with the problems of exchange students? Aren´t there better to arguments against this article?
I think it´s sad when people stand aside while someone is insulted just because of his race or heritage. We all know that things like that happened to Americans who live abroad i just wanted to show you that this happens in your country as well. No need for any comments about the nazis.

Maybe it´s better we stop this discussion. This is already offtopic.

The problem here in europe is that smart people have no chances to succeed on their own. They have to rely on professors who help them get the money they need for their research and as payment these professors get all the awards and the respect because they tell noone that this research was done by someone else. As long as we do nothing about it, our most promising young scientists will go to the USA and i can´t even blame them for that.

I hope it´s clear what i mean. Obviously english is not my native languange.

    1. Did you ever attend any history lessons? We were already beaten by Stalin´s troops before you invaded the Normandie. Utterly defeated^^ don´t make me laugh. Not that i´m proud of Hitler´s madness but it´s always funny when an american tries to lecture someone from another country about his history.

    2. they were not send there to be educated, they came to the USA to learn about your country, so they visited the US only for a short time. If they come to your country and only hear insults from your teachers and everyone else is this the right way to treat them? If your answer is yes then stop whining about anti-americanism in Germany. These students showed great interest in your culture, so i think it´s wrong to treat them like enemies.

I´m not belittleling your country even though it may sound like that. Next time please give me some arguments. You can start with whining about the leftist media in Germany.

Well here in Germany i´ve an article(i think it was on spiegel online) about german exchange students being humiliated in the USA, because of our opposition against the Iraq war. According to this article they were harassed by their teachers and their guest families. A lot of them wanted to go back to Germany as soon as possible. Seems to me like rascism is a problem everywhere.
