Bears eat a lot of mice and other small rodents. These critters are part of the life cycle of trichinella. Once encysted, the larvae are very difficult to kill. It requires a high heat.
trichinellosis used to be a major concern with pork. Many thought it came from hogs eating food scraps. It turns out it came from hogs eating the rodents that were also feeding on the food scraps.

It is interesting to note that the superintendent is not a biologist, not a botanist, not a geologist or anything that might possibly relate to a running a park and preserve. She is an uban planner.
The guy who was superintendent of the park and preserve out near Eagle on the Yukon River who presided over the park thugs knocking a 70+ year old man down and rolling him in the mud had the sole qualification of graduation from a federal law enforcement academy. Again, nothing that you would think might be associated with forests, rivers, and wildlife.
We have had several Toys. Still have the 1993 pickup and the 1994 4-runner. Both 4wd. Had two other 4wd’s Traded them for the 93 to get an extra cab. We also had a 2wd with a 20R and a 4runner with a 22RTE. It is my feeling that Toy hit their max build quality and reliability in the mid 90’s. Daily driver is now a Subaru Ascent. Both the toys and the Subie are nice cars. The dealer up here really stinks. Starts with a K.
Back in 1989 we had a stretch of 50 and then 65 below zero. After a few days of this almost everything that was still moving said Toyota on the tailgate.
They keep pushing this crap here. In a place that has super abundant oil, gas, and coal we are paying over 30 cents per kwh plus a 22.50 per month connection charge.
