It looks like Darrell Issa is back. Though votes are still being counted as of publication, Issa looks to have a solid second-place finish in Southern California's Congressional District 50 on Super Tuesday. A win means Issa makes it to the general election in California's "jungle primary." Issa came in second to Democrat Ammar-Campa Najjar in a field of five candidates, three Republicans and two Democrats, in California's contested Congressional District 50, vacated by disgraced Congressman Duncan Hunter, who pleaded guilty to one count of campaign fund misuse. Hunter will be sentenced later this month. CD 50 covers a portion...

This is a clip from the 1992 movie "Stalin," with Robert Duvall in the starring role. In this clip, Stalin meets with the peasants and informs them of his "solution" to their problem. Of course, Stalin has a different accent and personal style than Bernie, but his policy sounds very similar. Stalin with the Peasants BTW, Duvall does an excellent job in his portrayal of Stalin. If any of my fellow Freepers are interested in seeing the full movie, it is available for free on YouTube: "Stalin" full movie (2:52:33)

Nothing illustrates the folly of our 18-year-long nation-building mission in Afghanistan better than the partial peace bought by a months-long negotiation breaking down after just 72 hours. #BREAKING Taliban ends partial truce, to resume Afghan 'operations': spokesman AFP also reports, "three killed, 11 injured in blast in east Afghanistan," so you know the Taliban wasn't kidding around. The "operation," as the Taliban likes to call it, or "savage terror attack," as any honest person would call it, was in response to confusion between the Trump White House and the Afghan central government over the release of up to 5,000 Taliban...

Democratic lawmakers Thursday successfully blocked a GOP resolution condemning Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s laudatory comments about the Castro regime. By a vote of 224-189 that fell along party lines, the House of Representatives on Thursday voted to block a resolution that not only condemned numerous human rights abuses that took place under the Castro regime, but also condemned recent instances where Sanders refused to fully denounce the late Fidel Castro’s dictatorial rule over Cuba. The resolution was introduced by GOP Florida Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, who represents a district in the state that has 335,000 residents of Cuban descent — roughly...

"Do they stand with Bernie or do they stand for freedom?" McCarthy asked. Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski of New Jersey already has weighed in on the side of freedom. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — It’s the law that you need a license to drive. But, if you’re undocumented and driving without a license in Cambridge, police have been advised not to arrest you for that. It’s all part of a new law that passed unanimously in the city, which encourages police to summons unlicensed drivers instead of arresting them. The procedure has already been practiced for a while, but city leaders said they felt compelled to officially make it a law, in fear of what could happen to immigration laws should President Trump be re-elected. “We need to protect our community...
