“I don’t want to sound like a jack arse, but this is exactly in line with predictions I’ve made since before last year.
They will attempt an inside strike in 2010, possibly in collaboration with AQ, which means they need approx 1 year for transportation, setup, arrangements imho.”

What is also of interest was that Nostradamus predicted this very thing. Something stuck in my craw watching the late great planet earth in 1980. While the timetable was off a few years, it certainly seems the prophets Ezekial, Isaiah, Daniels and John sure seem to be unfolding and uncannily accurate.

This book has real merit. The question begging to be asked is why didn’t we learn from the French in Algeria, and our allies in Malaysia and Vietnam? The truth is, history is not one of many people’s favorite subjects. Pride of wanting to solve a problem with “new thinking” also gets in the way, when it is as simple as picking up a historical text of what worked and what didn’t against insurgencies using terror.

The current general in charge in Iraq is doing just that and has already shown success. The problem is the same as these other nations, the enemy has learned to influence the political left and media so support erodes while such strategies are just getting off the ground. Hence, the Bush surge to try and accelerate the process while Congress erodes the chances of sucess. The surge given time will work with the right strategy but it will indeed fail considering the lack of support by our good friends the left.

“Hopefully, we’ll also target the camps they are using to train terrorists for Iraq, and the barracks, depots and camps of their miserable Revolutionary Guard. Kill thousands of the bastards as payback.

    Well, IF we attack.”

They certainly are due for some short painful payback, that is for sure. Who knows? Perhaps they will go the way of Libya but I doubt it.

“I hope your right. I just feel that now he is acting like a dog thats been beaten. Your right about Congress having no authority to call in a Naval strike, but financing it is another story.”

If Bush hadn’t been villanized, you would see a coordinated air and ground assault to overthrow the mullahs in Iran. An air strike to slow them down is all we got. This will bite us hard later on in time and I believe we will see a regional war go nuclear with Israel and later a flash point in NK turning into nuclear WWIII. All preventable by showing our enemies we mean business instead of simply talking and be considerate of their feelings.

“I don’t know what fighting you saw between ISrael and Hezbola, but your assessment of eating ones lunch, is far from what happened. Actually, Hezzbola got their ass wuppt.. Yea they shot a thousand missiles into Israel, but Hezbola and their misguided people suffered greatly, and their hideouts have been destroyed.”

Ok jumping in here. Yes what you say above is right. However, the Israeli population rightfully thought it as a draw which is why Olmert’s approval ratings are in the single digits. Truth is, you had a lawyer (Olmert) and an air force general running what should have been a coordinated air, ground war to annihalate all of Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hell, you even had the Saudi’s issuing fatwahs saying how Israel had the right to self-defense. Israel blew this opportunity. Yeah, they destroyed some of Hezbollahs capability but in turn, Iran is emboldened, Hezbollah now has permanent government seats in Lebanons government and they are re-installing more short and long range rockets to be used at a later time against Israel.

“I have read it. It doesn’t say anything about the United States. It doesn’t give a timeline. It is no comfort at all given what is going on in the West.”

Timeline of a history of “the end”:

1: Israel reformed as a nation, Daniels prophecy of number of years until Jews gather together from all corners of the earth. This occured in 1948, within 6 months of Daniels stated timeline. He prophecied 1947.

    2) Christ says that their will be wars and reports of wars, to hold your head high because our deliverance is getting near but the end is not yet. Christ prophecies the end will happen before the generation expired that saw Israel reform as a nation. No timetable but does it mean that if you were born in 1948, you were part of the generation or would it mean you would have to be old enough to understand the significance of the event? In either case, since a person lives 80 or so years, you would be looking at 2028 latest and present day now as soonest.

    3) America only seems to be mentioned in the early passages of Revelations, where the Dragon disgourges water from it’s mouth to swallow the newly formed Israel, but the wings of the eagle carry her off and protect her for a time and times and half a time. Don’t have my bible handy but believe this is in Revelations 3 or 4.

"No, really, this is watching the end of western civilization. We don't care to preserve what we've created any longer. So, like others before us, we are relegating ourselves to stuff of dusty museums and college students who write theses on our rise and fall."

Nah, your seeing an exact repeat of what other countries did when they saw Islam beging advancing. Those countries, primarily the UK went on the offensive, then backed off leaving Europe to be mostly dominated by Islam, then enough countries united militarily to crush Islam and send it packing. The only difference is this history will be repeated in terms of decades, not centuries with the true uniting of Western powers happening only when a nuclear device is used.

"THIS IS AN ACT OF WAR!!!

Are there no men left who will stand up for what's right?!

What world am I growing up into?"

Agreed, it is an act of war. Their are many men who are already standing up to fight and dying to preserve our way of life. The British and American military personnel are top notch. The problem is policy, you have a total division of right wing and left wing politics. The right wing understands that Islam will not surrender nor negotiate until we are either all Muslims or all dead (with the latter preferred by our enemy). The left wing believes we can negotiate every situation either directly or by proxy. 800 years of history tell us exactly what must be done about militant Islam:

    1) Beef up defense, gather intelligence with operatives on the ground and technology everywhere.

    2) Go on the offensive. History shows us we are better using massive retaliation for Islamic attrocities sooner before the Islamic threat spreads. We ignored Iran for 30 years and Al Queda for 10. If we had retaliated massively in 1993 after the first trade towers you would not have had a 9/11, 7/7 or Spain Madrid train bombings. With Iran you would not be seeing them building nukes and threatening to use them, nor would you see them in Iraq influencing our entire strategy.

    3) Cut off funding for all terrorists and more importantly, their sponsors. To do this effectively, we must build our own domestic energy supply. Saudi Arabia is still the number one funder of international terror followed by Iran. Who provides the West with it's oil? Saudi Arabia and Iran. Then you have Russia, supplying weapons and nuclear assistance to terrorist states. The West, particularly Europe is frozen on any action against Iran and Russia precisely for this reason.

    4) Stop immigration from Islamic states. Yeah, we love thos guys from Jordon coming here because they fully immigrate and have had 15 years of full democracy, enough time for the populace to make freedom and prosperity a focus instead of killing Jews and the Great Satan.

    5) Stop illegal immigration on our own border and enforce the law. WHy would countries not try and smuggle bad guys in with bombs, when we don't even have the will to police and protect our own people.

"I like your half full approach compared to my half empty."

In a world where the West was united in it's politics against tyranny such as WWII and shortly thereafter, my approach would have been what MacArthur suggested, bomb and invade back to the stone age. Half measures is all we have but at least it may get us past this horrible socialist leadership we have on both sides of the pond.

He's allowed the Democraps and his lame duck status to politically cripple him as commander in chief. This is what you get when electing someone that is more concerned about getting along than doing whats right!"

Agreed he was pussified up until three months ago when he authorized the troop surge before the change in Congress, so they couldn't stop him. Bush also will attack Iran using air and naval power that is within his power and again, Congress can do nothing.

"Well at least one Brit has a pair still."

I believe actually that most Brits still have a pair like we do at home. Unfortunately, the left on both sides of the pond now command government decision making including it's anti-war stance. This sentiment is promoted throughout the press globally, alerting our enemies we are weak and the time to make their moves is now. It also riles up the left political base so they are much more vocal in blogs and other Internet press. All of these on the left scream how our insensitive policies have caused the Middle East to hate us, support Iran whom promises nuclear destruction of Israel and the West and encourages hostile superpowers like Russia to veto everything we do to change things.

"War will not happen with Iran. THis will go on for weeks perhaps months. THe brits will pay some kind of ransom and then they'll be released. Iran will come out the winner in this and the Brits will come out the losers. The UK will never take real action so the US will never have a chance to back them up."

Don't count on it. You don't move two carrier battlefleets to a reason and conduct wargames 5 miles off a hostile nations coast for nothing. We are going to destroy their nuke program and probably their air, force and navy while we are at it.

"If the Iranians use a nuke there will no longer be any doubt about their possession of nuclear weapons. That will green light total annihilation. The free world could not sit back while Iran then developed Midrange and Long Range ICBM capabilities. Testing a nuke and using a nuke are two entirely different issues. In the modern world you can negotiate and make treaties with nuke testers. You cannot however negotiate and make treaties with nuke users. Especially if they have violated almost every agreement they have ever entered."

You have a good point, but I still disagree. If Iran attacks us first with a nuke military of civilian agreed would be green light for total annihalation on them. However, if we initiate an attack and they nuke a carrier I still maintain we will not use a nuke back. We may certainly go in with a conventional attack after we are fairly sure we have destroyed any other nuclear stockpile.

"You know, the more I think about it, in a sick way, maybe leaving Iraq is our only choice. The brick-crapping that will go on in the capitals of Europe as they contemplate Iranian hegemony on their doorstep may finally drive the point home that at the end of the day, Europe is a much closer target than the U.S., so start sending troops or prepare to fight them on the Continent. At this point - and I can't believe I'm saying this - but we're taking all the casualties, our own Congress makes a meaningful war with Iran a near-impossibility, and we're being told everything is our fault. Fine. Let's leave. Let Spain contemplate the rebirth of Andalusia at the end of a medium-range missile launched from Iranian controlled Baghdad. Let them contemplate daily Islamic rioting in Paris and London and Berlin. The Riviera can become the new Gaza Strip. Let them contemplate their complicity in the nuclear destruction of Jerusalem, (God forbid) the sacking of the Vatican, and the end of all that made Western Civilization great. This is what they want. Maybe when they're busy everyday cleaning up broken glass and dismembered bodies on the Champs-Elysees, they'll realize who the enemy is. Clearly, CLEARLY none of these countries (except for Britain and Australia) would ever come to our aid if the situation were reversed."

We would need to be energy dependant for your fortress america plan to work. It is the largely the real reason Iran is so ballsy. Meltdown of our global markets would be a real problem.

Yeah but Bush can bomb the shit out of Iran and take out most of their military and all of their nuke development and those carriers in the gulf aren't sitting their for nothing. Don't need Congress or House for limited action. This is better then doing nothing.

And Mother Russia said stop whining and smacked him down.

I applaud Russia. You start pampering and there will be no end to British whining.

Blair is a whiner and needs to learn to take care of his problems through direct measures instead of bothering everyone else with his "hellllppp ppp meeeeee plzzz, Iran's beeeeiiinnngg meeannnn"."

I don't see it that way. I see it right out the Bush's playbook. Ask the UN to enforce it's own charter and the Geneva Convention. When it doesn't, as per usual now the world knows that unilateral action was justified. Remember news is global now. Our enemies, our allies and those in the middle are all watching.
