The procedure of examination and hand counting in Palm Beach Co. is obviously flawed. To be constitutional every ballot should be examined equally. There are undoubtedly ballots which have an obvious single punch for President, but which also have a slot through which the sun might shine, and should, therefore be rejected as having two votes for president. They were only inspecting ballots which had no obvious selection for President, and awarding a candidate only if they saw the sunlight through a single slot. Remember after the networks early on rushed to judgement that Florida was a winner for Gore. Shortly thereafter Bush was interviewed and said that he did not believe the projection of all the networks and that he expected to win Florida. Contrast that with Gore; shortly after all the networks announced that Bush had won Florida, and he then called Bush and conceded the elections based on having heard that on all of the networks. On an interesting interview with Mike Wallace, Bill O'Rielly on Fox made the point that Hillary Clinton only goes on TV shows where she gets softball questions like Orphra and Letterman. He asked Wallace if he ever tried to get her on for an interview; Wallace said no, that it would be a waste of time, "those people never tell the truth."

Am I the only one who heard these incredible statements on Larry King tonight(April 24). Both F. Lee Baily and Ben Bradlee of the Washington Post said thet it didn't matter what the 11th Circuit Court said. They both said that the rights of Elian's father to keep Elian and return with him to Cuba trumped their opinion and that their opinion was "moot." Sounds like the momentum is building by the Clinton forces to defy any court decision and return Elian to Cuba! Please corect me if I am wrong.
