Unfortunately, it’s true. I’ve had parents call and ask to participate in job interviews. The first time I heard it I thought someone was playing a joke on me. This is a characteristic of both helicopter parents and the Gen Y student/applicant.
My father passed away a number of years ago from esophageal cancer. I learned more than I ever wanted about this and acid reflux.
Easy things to do:
* avoid peppermint - it relaxes the esophageal muscle and allows reflux
* don’t lay down after eating
* avoid sodas - carbonation also encourages reflux
As others have said - see your doctor. Most people don’t discover Esophageal cancer until its too late.
The arrogance with which TxDoT and Governor Good Hair keep pushing this (pick an orafice) is astounding. If nothing else, this makes the case for smaller government (and no second terms).
True that both "cores" would/do like those candidates, but both also have baggage. As sharp a guy as Newt is, I have to think his baggage weighs more than Gore's.
Gore is resurrecting himself and seems to have no love for the Clintons.
The South part of Fulton doesn't want to admit that they enjoy the current redistribution of wealth program (it's not "progressive", but socialist) they force on the North side.
It's also very tough for the North side to get any fair representation. They pay the bills, but get no voice.
I believe the current TX law allows you to use deadly force on your property after dark if you feel you are threatened (but not necessarily for just trespassing or stealing).
However, it is very much true that most times a trespasser or theif has been shot, the jury sides with the property owner.
Wait. Maybe Alec has it right - we should send Ted Kennedy to Iraq and make the terrorists ride in the car with him driving. They have bridges in Iraq, don't they?

The union representing workers at Swift & Co. meat processing plant in Greeley went to Federal District Court in Denver to demand that more than 200 workers be released because they were interrogated and detained illegally and primarily because they had stopped paying their union dues
