i watched part of the news broadcast about this the other night on a local dallas channel. the guy looked physically worn down from the stress of it all. glad to see justice prevailed in this case. hope he can find some semblance of a normal life from this day on.

"...Mexicans often see America full of broken families, rampant drug use and unchecked materialism..." That's odd, because I see these characteristics in many illegal aliens. I have yet to enter an illegal alien household that does not contain a big screen TV.

broken families, huh? attend mass on sunday in any texas r.c. church and then wait for communion time. look around to see exactly how many families go up to receive communion. not many. reason: 75% of them are illegal aliens and are "broken families" - UNMARRIED, 'co-habiting', and spitting out american citizens every 11 months or so. they don't go up to receive communion because they are in a 'state of sin'. they cannot legally marry because they know full well they are already here illegally and, therefore, cannot go through the legal steps to legalize their unions.

    Where did you get this?

i was actually browsing WorldnetDaily.com and came across the headline. i'd hoped for a story to go with it but it was just a picture. i'll see what E!Online has to say about it - that is, if they've even posted it.

i stated that i've seen worse but that's all...i've seen it. i've made no fuss about it. that's not whining, just simply pointing out that no one else has made such a fuss. i didn't say all "should accomodate", but kindly asked to overlook my style.

do you, when out in public, openly correct a stranger's grammar or vocabulary which may be severely lacking? i wouldn't do that to a stranger because it is rude. if they got their point across and it was not offensive, i'd leave it be. obviously, if they were foul in getting their point across, i might find it necessary to speak up.

i've been reading FR for a while now and only recently found the time and courage to post. i've been familiar with your screen name and found you to be one of the more intelligent & reasonable posters that i'd come to admire. however, my feelings are beginning to change. i've plenty of manners, thank you, and i use them quite often. i've admitted when & why i do & don't use the shift key. you are not my english professor and neither is anyone else on FR. you have the option of NOT reading my ill-mannered typing style. that's your choice. i'd hate to think what kind of wrath would come my way if i were the queen of typos.

Bush carried our county by over 40,000 votes. Brad Pitt has lost his way.

i could agree with that. look at the women he dated over the years - all nutters in the political department, imho: robin givens, juliette lewis (crackpot scientologist), gwynny-pooh, the EX-, and now jolie. too many years sniffing smog has gotten the better of his southern brain!

i thought i heard a story several years ago that he'd bought several hundred acres near springfield. there was talk that he was 'going home' and would build a family home there. maybe he should move back to live amongst the real people and trade in the mercedes for a real pick-up!

i like driving through springfield on my way to the in-laws in indy. seems like a nice small city.

people, take it easy. i didn't forget any commas or periods, did i? no misplaced colons or run-on sentences that my bad eyes can see. i try to post in paragraphs instead of mega-blocks. apparently, my posts are still quite readable, are they not. it's just one key that i negate use of when i am writing casually. the SHIFT KEY. i don't remember paying tuition to sign up on F.R. i'm not writing a thesis or research paper for professors, nor am i writing out my resume. bloody, hell, why are some getting their knickers in a bloody twist over this? there are better things to do, are there not. your conclusion that i'm ill-mannered because i skip one function key is a bit much, mate.

besides, i've seen worse grammar & typing etiquette on a couple of posts on FR and i haven't seen many complaining.

for some reason i could not post the link as Contact Music is "no longer welcome on FR"??? this was in response to an article posted about Brad Pitt. here is what the article said...BTW, WAY TO GO PATSY!

    'Pitt Shocked by Anti-American Attitude'

BRAD PITT discovered how unpopular America is across the globe when a group of drunk Dutchmen threatened to kill him because of his nationality. Pitt ran into the partygoers while he was in Amsterdam shooting OCEAN'S TWELVE, and the incident shocked him. He says, "I get a bike wherever I go and I went for a midnight ride around Amsterdam. There were some guys coming out of a bar having a good time. I said, 'Excuse me,' and swerved out of the way and they started screaming, 'You f**king American. We'll f**king kill you.' "I'd never come face to face with that before - that turn in the way we are perceived in other countries."

the fact that i don't use the shift key while i TYPE shouldn't make a difference, imho. when i WRITE, i do, of course, use capital letters. and my spoken english far outshines many i come across, even if i speak it with a strong n. texas twang. furthermore, i'm not writing a college thesis or anything that would require me to use proper typing etiquette.

when you type as fast as i do, combined with the fact that i keep long nails and have some joint issues, i would kindly ask that my lack of shift-key use be overlooked. there's only so much a girl's hands can do, you know! ;)

it is true...i believe the islamic laws DO NOT apply to them -it's written in their constitution, if not within the laws about khalwat. you need only LOOK malay or have someone rat on you (out of vengeance) and the religious police will be on your case faster than you can say 'prick'. but they (r.p.) have overstepped their bounds, very clearly, in this case. for all the crap that mahathir mohammed spouts on a regular basis, malaysia is like a puppy dog when it comes to americans and america. they love the US$ DOLLAR!!! there will be politicians who will take care of this matter swiftly and vigorously as they see dollar signs at the end of the road - a possible loss of PLENTY OF IT if they don't.

very true...malaysia, if you strip away the nationalist (islamo-malay) pride is a beautiful country. really. the majority of the population are generous, gracious, kind, friendly people. the geography of the land varies from jungle to highlands to coastal, breathtaking in some instances. malaysia could very well be the islamo-malay equivalent of singapore or hong kong, but they (govt) refuse to take off their blinders and stand upright to the religious fanatics (UMNO, i believe) and they're fast becoming the laughing stock of the region.

i used to frequent the chat forum of The New Straits Times (the singapore-based S.T.) and the animosity between citizens from both sides of the waterway was enough to slice a brick in two with a butter knife. singaporeans see malaysians as backwards jungle people. the arguments the malaysians had with the singaporeans was laughable. singaporeans see islam as the biggest obstacle, what keeps malaysia from advancing at the same level as singapore. i find that to be true, imo.

go to the northern states in west malaysia and you will hear the most insane stories in the news. bilboards promoting baby lotion - banned if a baby's bare bottom is shown. bilboards promoting women's products - the woman has to have her head concealed with a tudung (hijab). separate check-out counters for men and women in grocery or department stores. drive from the port in kuantan to one of the busy towns to go shopping, you will see absolutely little signs of the 20th century, save for a car or tv antenna atop a house. ethnic malays, bumiputras, are heavily subsidized with welfare in many of its garish forms. and the people really suffer for it.

i mean, yes, it's great when you can venture to a certain part of the world and see the simple life - but to see it because certain government entities see progress as an affront to islam and malay identity...well, that's what it's gone too far.

"Not just in malaysia , but most higher paying jobs around the world require english skills...as a minimum. To move beyond most basic jobs, one must be able to communicate in english."

i realize that, what i failed to communicate is that malaysia once was a country (esp in the days after its time as a british colony) that stressed english as THE language to learn and master. the last twenty or thirty years has seen a rise in nationalist pride (i.e. islamic-malay pride) and the focus has turned to the malay language and the malay race as being a #1 priority. this has been done by politicians pandering to the religious authorities who have put them in public office. whilst it's been years since i've been in malaysia, close family and friends keep me up-to-date. go to m'sia & then s'pore (singapore) and you will see a huge gap between the economic sectors, social, and religious sectors. singapore will always be 50 years ahead of malaysia - sadly due to the myopic views the ethnic malays have of themselves and their supposed superiority over everyone else.
