To me this is yet another strength for Senator Thompson. It’s the ones that like campaigning that give me the creeps... a certain intern-boinker comes to mind.

Very weird, it could have been staged after the fact - this debate hurt them and they know it. Judging from the invitees they felt a need to shore up the ditz vote (a critical Clinton constituency).

Apparently the tabloid stories a) were filed approx 5 minutes after the show ended and b) were based on comments made by a Swedish journalist (Ove?) who later demanded the tabloids correct their story, saying they had exagerated what he said.
So yes this is very uncharacteristic of KR, but is apparently warranted. Anyway, the tabloids would be well-advised to not mess with Keith Richards...

Thanks for posting this. There could be political traction here....
“In fact, our poll shows this concept (stabilize before withdraw) appeals not only to Republicans, 91% of whom agree with it, and Independents (80%), but to a solid majority of Democrats (66%). Even those who believe we have lost the war believe stabilization is important.”
Regarding polls, one of the refreshing aspects of President Bush is that he doesn’t govern according to opinion polls, in large contrast to the previous President.
