Democratic Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s senate campaign was flagged by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Sunday for accepting “excessive” and “impermissible” donations. The FEC notified O’Rourke that a preliminary review of his campaign’s July quarterly report showed contributions from one or more individuals with addresses outside of the United States. Donations were also made that “exceed the limit” determined by the federal government. O’Rourke has 45 days to respond. President Trump's disgraced former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, copped a plea deal on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan that includes his making a criminal campaign contribution in the form of hush money to Stormy Daniels. Mark Levin and former chairman of the Federal Election Commission Brad Smith discussed this "non-crime" on The Mark Levin Show Tuesday night.  Levin correctly points out that Cohen pleaded guilty to "a non-existent crime." Brad Smith later tweeted, "No matter how you cut it, paying blackmail to an alleged mistress is not an obligation that exists because you are a candidate, and hence not campaign...

It exposes prohibited communications between Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the DNC and the non-profit organization Americans United for Change. And, it’s all disguised as a duck. In this video, several Project Veritas Action undercover journalists catch Democracy Partners founder directly implicating Hillary Clinton in FEC violations. “In the end, it was the candidate, Hillary Clinton, the future president of the United States, who wanted ducks on the ground,” says Creamer in one of several exchanges.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius violated federal law when she campaigned this winter for President Obama, federal investigators announced Wednesday. Sebelius broke the law by making “extemporaneous partisan remarks” during a speech in February at a Human Rights Campaign Event in Charlotte, N.C., according to the Office of Special Counsel (OSC). She made the comments in the city that would later host the Democratic National Convention. ... The agency said Sebelius’ comments violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits public officials from campaigning in an official capacity. The agency said the Department of Health and Human Services after the...

As a key Judiciary subcommittee looks to the 2008 elections to assess the state of voting rights, Republicans will once again try to shine a light on ACORN, the controversial community organization that has drawn criticism and accusations in recent years. Republicans have accused the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now of being little more than a Democratic front-group, and in testimony Thursday a top GOP lawyer will again charge the group with violating campaign finance and Internal Revenue Service law. In testimony to the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Republican National Lawyers Association...

WASHINGTON -- The Republican-run Justice Department is setting its sights on Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign in pursuit of possible fund-raising violations. In targeting a rising star in the Democratic Party, prosecutors are trying to gain the cooperation of an indicted businessman who raised the allegations, interviews and documents indicate. The FBI has told a U.S. magistrate in Los Angeles it has evidence the former first lady's campaign deliberately understated its fund-raising costs so it would have more money to spend on elections, and prosecutors allege one of her fund-raisers helped because he wanted a pardon from her...

The FBI is investigating whether two political committees that prosecutors link to state Sen. Chuck Chvala violated federal money laundering laws. According to a criminal complaint filed last year, here is one example of how Chvala is accused of skirting state campaign finance laws: Chvala told lobbyist Bill Broydrick to have his clients contribute money to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C.The DLCC then funneled money back to a phony independent group in Wisconsin called Independent Citizens for Democracy Inc. Chvala is accused of creating and controlling that group. That group spent more than $800,000 during the 2000 campaign...
