Former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson reminded MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell Thursday of the Obama administration’s decision to expand the number of immigrant family detentions. A partial transcript follows: JEH JOHNSON: Illegal migration reacts sharply to perceived changes in enforcement policy — in the short term — but it always reverts back longer term to the longer term trends given the underlying condition of the so-called push factors in central America. So that is what President Trump and his administration have seen now over the last year. The numbers are 40 or 50,000 per month and they are obviously...

The father of the Honduran girl who became the face of the family separation crisis has revealed that he still has not been in touch with his wife or daughter but was happy to learn they are safe. Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, 32, said that he had not heard from his wife Sandra, 32, who was with his two-year-old daughter Yanela Denise, for nearly three weeks until he saw the image of them being apprehended in Texas. In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Hernandez, who lives in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, says that he was told yesterday that his wife and...

A reader in a previous article I did on the illegal immigrant detention center in Texas, asked me a question about the Wal-Mart centers. which closed in 2015 due to plumbing issues. As I was trying to find an answer, I came across a list of Obama 2014 Detention Centers. It states under them if they were implemented, failed, or under proposal. The list goes on and on, and it is only for unaccompanied minors. Their parents sent them across the border alone – I cannot imagine that. One must realize it is, in fact, the parent who is responsible...

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is calling on President Donald Trump to end the “heartless” policy of separating immigrant children from their parents at the U.S. border. “Children shouldn’t be used as a negotiating tool,” Bush tweeted on Monday. “@realDonaldTrump should end this heartless policy and Congress should get an immigration deal done that provides for asylum reform, border security and a path to citizenship for Dreamers.” The failed presidential candidate’s plea came in response to President Trump’s tweet in which he vowed to stop “some of the worst criminals on earth,” from using children to illegally enter the U.S....

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei slammed the Trump administration on Wednesday over the U.S.'s policy of separating migrant families who cross the border illegally for prosecution and detainment. In comments posted on his website reported by Reuters, Rouhani wrote that he was "exasperated" to see pictures and video of migrant children as young as toddlers being kept in cages, which have caused widespread outrage in the U.S. “Seeing the images of the crime of separating thousands of children from their mothers in America makes a person exasperated,” Khamenei said, according to Reuters. “But the Americans separate the children from...

A majority of voters blame the parents of the separated children at the southwestern border for the current immigration crisis, not the federal government, according to a new poll. “When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54 percent of likely U.S. voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law,” says a Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday. Rasmussen found 35 percent believe the federal government is more to blame for enforcing the law, while 11 percent are not sure about the situation. “A closer look shows that 82 percent of...

President Donald Trump says that Democrats are responsible for a 'massive child smuggling industry' in the United States that is making human traffickers a steep profit. The president says that 'traffickers are making a fortune' and its all thanks to loopholes he says are the fault of Democrats that exist in the immigration system. 'It's a whole big con job,' the president charged in a Cabinet meeting. 'They've let it happen.' Even before he took office, Trump noted that coyotes were helping floods of unaccompanied minors illegally cross the border.

It's late, I'm exhausted, won't get back to this before 9AM, BUT .... Southwest Key Programs is the entity that holds the contract to "shelter" illegal immigrant kids. They have taken down their website today and replaced it with a generic info page. I looked up The Board of Directors, not easy but doable, and found that every one is connected to La Raza. What the effing hell. Does this make libs happy? Or not?

Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) is among the crop of Democrats suddenly sparking outrage over the condition of immigration detention centers at the U.S.-Mexico border. Images of children placed in cages have been going viral. The problem is, the conditions are largely the same as they had been under President Obama. In fact, some of the photos being circulated look eerily similar to those taken in 2014. Baldwin was going on about the Trump White House's terrible policy on CNN, until Brooke Baldwin asked the senator if she was just as outraged during the Obama years. Not exactly, but she did...

(Reuters) - Immigrant children are being routinely and forcibly given a range of psychotropic drugs at U.S. government-funded youth shelters to manage their trauma after being detained and in some cases separated from parents, according to a lawsuit. Children held at facilities such as the Shiloh Treatment Center in Texas are almost certain to be administered the drugs, irrespective of their condition, and without their parents' consent, according to the lawsuit filed by the Los Angeles-based Center for Human Rights & Constitutional Law. The Shiloh center, which specializes in services for children and youths with behavioral and emotional problems, did...

A man previously arrested on child pornography charges worked as a case manager at a major child detention center located in Brownsville, Texas, according to a Wednesday exposé by Texas Monthly. Ernesto Padron is a former Border Patrol agent who was forced to resign from the agency in 2010 after being charged with possession of child pornography, which is a second-degree felony. Padron’s prosecution dragged on and the charges were only dismissed years later due to a massive case backlog which resulted in the statute of limitations being allowed to expire, according to the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office. Padron’s...

Crocodile tears are flowing from Democrats and their allies in the Democrat Media Industrial Complex (DMIC) over the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration laws signed by then-President Bill Clinton in 1997, followed by then-President Barack Obama’s decisions and policies. Immigration laws are a function of every country on the planet. Otherwise, why have borders? Which is something Democrats would apparently prefer not to have — or enforce. Because they want a recurring wave of new underclass voters, dependent upon the state for all their needs. Illegal aliens fit that description perfectly. The latest salvo in the immigration imbroglio stems from...

On Sunday, a day we as a nation set aside to honor fathers and the bonds of family, I was among the millions of Americans who watched images of children who have been torn from their parents. In the six weeks between April 19 and May 31, the Department of Homeland Security has sent nearly 2,000 children to mass detention centers or foster care. More than 100 of these children are younger than 4 years old. The reason for these separations is a zero-tolerance policy for their parents, who are accused of illegally crossing our borders. I live in a...

The Democrat Party and their allies in the media have been attempting to blame President Trump and his administration for the poor living conditions of children who’ve been smuggled or who’ve illegally entered our country. Even the liberal Polit–ifact “fact—checker” defended President Trump when he went on the offense against Democrats after liberals attacked the Trump administration’s policy on child migrants. Trump said the Democrats were sharing a photo of detained children from 2014 during President Barack Obama’s presidency. .com/truth-o-meter/statements/2018/may/29/donald-trump/trump-correctly-tweets-democrats-mistakenly-tweete/ “Democrats mistakenly tweet 2014 pictures from Obama’s term showing children from the Border in steel cages,” Trump tweeted May 29....

Migrant children who cross into the United States either alone or with adults have a higher standard of living once they are put into federal care than the more than 13 million American children who are living in poverty across the country. In Fiscal Year 2017, the federal government referred nearly 41,000 unaccompanied minor border crossers to the Unaccompanied Alien Children program which is facilitated by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Data provided to Breitbart News reveals that each unaccompanied minor costs the federal government about $34,660 annually. This is a higher standard of living per child than the roughly...

Following Melania Trump weighing in on the emotionally charged debate about border separations, trashy washed up comedian Kathy Griffin lost her mind on Twitter, calling the First Lady a “feckless complicit piece of s–t.”

Rep. Henry Cuellar claimed in an interview that the Obama administration tried to cover up the number of unaccompanied minors crossing the United States’ southern border...“It was kept very quiet under the Obama Administration. There were large numbers of people coming in. The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet,” According to data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency, nearly 70,000 unaccompanied minors crossed the southern border in fiscal year (FY) 2014—the period between October 1, 2013, to September 30, 2014....“We still see the numbers,” Cuellar said. “Not all of them are being separated. Some of...

The White House appears poised for a fight over its policy of separating migrant families who cross the border illegally, even as a growing number of lawmakers are voicing concerns about the practice. Democrats and some Republicans have in recent days visited facilities used to house separated family members, leading to new questions about the process and growing calls for the so-called "zero tolerance" policy to end. GOP Sens. Jeff Flake (Ariz.) and Susan Collins (Maine) wrote to the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services on Saturday asking for clarity on the administration's practice of separating migrant...

First lady Melania Trump uncharacteristically waded into a fierce debate around immigration on Sunday, pushing for bipartisan cooperation to end the separation of migrant children from their parents at the border. “Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform," according to a statement from her spokeswoman. "She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart.” The first lady's statement stood in contrast to comments made by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who...
