"Empire State considers being a minority a health 'risk factor' due to 'longstanding systemic health and social inequities' The state of New York said it will prioritize non-White people in the distribution of COVID-19 treatments in short supply. New York’s Department of Health released a document detailing its plan to distribute the treatments, such as monoclonal antibody treatment and antiviral pills. The plan includes a section on eligibility for the scarce antiviral pills that people must meet to receive the treatment, including a line stating a person needs to have "a medical condition or other factors that increase their risk...

The state of New York said it will prioritize non-White people in the distribution of COVID-19 treatments in short supply. New York’s Department of Health released a document detailing its plan to distribute the treatments, such as monoclonal antibody treatment and antiviral pills. The plan includes a section on eligibility for the scarce antiviral pills that people must meet to receive the treatment, including a line stating a person needs to have "a medical condition or other factors that increase their risk for severe illness." One such "risk factor" is being a race or ethnicity that is not White due...

Two key studies have identified the role that melatonin plays in reducing the risk of a positive test for COVID-19 and lowering the incidence of severe symptoms. That new finding adds to a list of benefits linked to melatonin since it was first discovered in 1958 by Dr. Aaron Lerner, a dermatologist who was able to isolate it from the pineal gland in a cow.Scientists began studying melatonin in the 1980s, and by the 1990s, it received more attention. Research data showed that melatonin influences a number of bodily processes, including calcium-dependent metabolism, immune modulation, and tumor growth—which it can restrain.Although...

The scientist who combined two widely available over-the-counter compounds that inhibited the novel coronavirus by 99% in early tests told WND he's hopeful his treatment will be available "within months.""An FDA-approved treatment could be in sight within months if pharmaceutical companies utilize existing clinical trial resources," said Dr. David Ostrov in an email interview with WND.Ostrov, an immunologist and associate professor in the University of Florida College of Medicine’s department of pathology, immunology and laboratory medicine, combined diphenhydramine, which is marketed as Benadryl, and lactoferrin, a protein in milk, as WND reported in December."My prediction is that antiviral drug combinations,...

Small, unique antibody-like proteins known as VNARs—derived from the immune systems of sharks—can prevent the virus that causes COVID-19, its variants, and related coronaviruses from infecting human cells, according to a new study published Dec. 16. The new VNARs will not be immediately available as a treatment in people, but they can help prepare for future coronavirus outbreaks. The shark VNARs were able to neutralize WIV1-CoV, a coronavirus that is capable of infecting human cells but currently circulates only in bats, where SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, likely originated. Developing treatments for such animal-borne viruses ahead of time can...

Early in the pandemic it was pretty obvious to a lot of doctors that ivermectin seemingly worked. The issue is that there were no well controlled studies and lack of a solid protocol in clinical management. In places like Central and South America Doctors didn’t have time to do controlled studies; they simply prescribed it to all the patients as a triage to stem the overflowing hospital corridors. For many it seemingly worked because they got the drug early in the disease. When there were calls for a clinical trial, there was no control group that hadn’t already been given...

Pfizer says testing on its planned COVID-19 treatment pill has shown it is effective against the omicron variant while also maintaining its efficacy in reducing hospitalizations and deaths caused by other variants. According to the Associated Press, a study conducted by Pfizer on 2,250 people showed the pill reduced combined hospitalizations and deaths by about 89% among high-risk adults who took the pill shortly after noticing COVID symptoms. Testing conducted by separate labs showed the treatment remained effective against the omicron variant, despite the pill being developed before omicron was spreading around the world. The treatment was tested against a...

I came down with the flu on 12/3 but am back to work. just have coughing left, however hubs, who is self employed, has been off his feet since 12/6. He received an RX for amoxicillin, however that is only working on the bacterial side. The viral side is keeping him down, fatigue, fever that comes and goes, soreness, headaches etc. We live in upstate NY and both are insured under my insurance plan (which I was going to retire next month but now doesn't look like it due to Bidenflation). We also have Ivermectin that we took early on....

HARRISBURG, Pa. - As more Pennsylvanians are diagnosed with COVID-19, families of those infected are ready to give alternative treatments a try to save dying loved ones. But the path to experiment controversial medicines is not an easy one. On Monday, Rep. Dawn Keefer, who serves York and Cumberland Counties spoke in front of the state health committee on the benefits of House Bill 1741. The bill, written by Rep. Keefer, would give doctors the approval to prescribe off-label drugs like Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients. "We need to give everyone more resources and effort into treatment, preventative...

STORY AT-A-GLANCEDr. Joseph Ladapo was appointed Florida surgeon general and secretary of the Florida Department of Health by Gov. Ron DeSantis September 21, 2021Ladapo has now issued a statewide public service announcement in support of commonsense COVID prevention strategies such as optimizing your vitamin D, staying active, eating nutrient-dense foods and boosting your immune system with supplements such as vitamin C, quercetin and zincFlorida Health even highlights emerging treatments such as fluvoxamine and inhaled budesonide. Importantly, Florida Health now states that “Physicians should use their clinical judgment when recommending treatment options for patients’ individualized health care needs. This may include...

The combination includes diphenhydramine, an antihistamine used for allergy symptoms. When paired with lactoferrin, a protein found in cow and human milk, the compounds were found to hinder the SARS-CoV-2 virus during tests in monkey cells and human lung cells.

Monday morning, as I did my morning bicycle ride (I live in a safe neighborhood), I listened to Breitbart News host Alex Marlowe interview John Nolte, another Breitbart personality about COVID vaccination hesitancy. By the end of the interview, they’d wandered through several logical fallacies that need to be exposed so people can accurately balance vaccines versus treatments. Marlowe and Nolte quoted data purporting to show that Washington state counties that Trump won have much higher COVID death rates than counties that Biden won. Vaccination rates are blamed for the difference. Marlowe went on to declare that it’s been proven...

AbstractDoctors today are driven by what the NIH says, not science. The NIH ignores everything that isn't big pharma.Example: The Pfizer 6-month trial showed no all-cause mortality benefit; in fact, if anything, it showed that the vaccine killed more people than it saved. Sure, one COVID life was saved per 22,000 fully vaxed, but the all-cause mortality strongly favored the placebo (21 died in vaccine group vs. 17 in placebo). Doctors rush to recommend it. Nobody is skeptical.Fluvoxamine on the other hand actually demonstrated a 12 times reduction in all-cause mortality in the Phase 3 trial. SNIPWelcome to 2021 where...

An experimental chewing gum could reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, according to a recent study published in the journal Molecular Therapy. You might already have noticed headlines calling the findings "fresh hope" in our fight against COVID-19. But how excited should we be? And would this gum work against omicron, the newest variant of concern? Evidence shows people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have high levels of virus in their saliva. So researchers in the US wanted to investigate whether a specially designed chewing gum could reduce the amount of virus in the mouth, and therefore potentially...

If the goal is to prevent hospitalizations and deaths, why haven't the NIH, CDC, or any major medical institution published a single covid-19 outpatient treatment protocol? Coronaviruses are seasonal viruses and the northern hemisphere is entering the winter season where covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are likely to surge. This virus seasonality is due to changes in human behavior, temperature, humidity, ventilation, UV sunlight, and vitamin D levels. How people interact and where they interact change in different regions throughout the spring, summer, fall, and winter. This seasonality causes covid-19 to surge during the hot summers in the south and...

A prominent doctor credited with advancing the development of early treatments for COVID-19 has stated that, in his judgment, the purpose of the pandemic and vaccine campaigns, is to “control and kill off a large proportion of our population without anyone suspecting that we were poisoned.” Dr. Shankara Chetty, a family doctor in South Africa who, according to his website, has “treated 7000 Covid-19 patients without a single hospitalization or death,” combined insights from his medical knowledge along with his observations of government dictates and media censorship to support his conclusions. While participating in a Zoom meeting of people who...

The Biden administration is expected to announce this week that it is purchasing 10 million courses of Pfizer’s covid pill, a multibillion-dollar investment in medication that officials hope will help change the trajectory of the pandemic by staving off many hospitalizations and deaths, according to two people with knowledge of the transaction. U.S. officials see this antiviral pill, and another by Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, as potential game-changers to help restore a broader sense of normalcy and are eager to add them to a small arsenal of treatments for Americans who contract the coronavirus. With breakthrough cases rising and 30...
