Veteran TV newsman and former University of Alabama football player Christopher Sign died Saturday morning in an apparent suicide, according to police. At 8:13 a.m. Saturday, the Hoover 911 center received a call of a person down at a residence on Scout Trace. Hoover police and fire personnel arrived to find the 45-year-old Sign dead. Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba said the death is being investigated as a suicide. ABC 33/40 in 2017 announced Sign was returning to Birmingham from Phoenix as the evening anchor, replacing Dave Baird after he retired. Sign co-anchored broadcasts with Brenda Ladun and Pam Huff....

This week the New York Post [1] reported that Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has emerged as a leading contender for the top spot at DOJ. The race to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder has included the controversial Labor Secretary Tom Perez, and like Perez, MayorkasÂ’ tenure in the federal government is filled with a considerable amount of ethics-defying shadiness.Prior to taking his current position as the number two man at DHS, Mayorkas was head of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which is mandated to administer the biggest immigration system in the world...

The man known as Abu Abbas, whose name actually is Mohammed Abbas, was arrested by US commandos during a raid Monday night on the southern outskirts of Baghdad. He had been convicted in absentia in an Italian court for the Achille Lauro hijacking and sentenced to life in prison in 1986, but never served any time. During the hijacking, American Leon Klinghoffer, 69, was shot in his wheelchair and tossed overboard. The hijacking ended with the militants surrendering to Egyptian authorities. "Justice will be served," said Marine Maj. Brad Bartelt, a spokesman for US Central Command in Qatar. However, the...

The Palestinian Authority has launched a campaign for the release of a Palestinian terrorist captured in Iraq. PA Local Authorities Minister Saeb Erekat said the arrest of Abul Abbas, head of the Palestine Liberation Front, violates the 1995 accord with Israel that granted amnesty for all Palestinian insurgents. Erekat said the agreement was also signed by then-President Bill Clinton. "The Palestinian-Israeli interim agreement signed on September 28, 1995 stated that members of the Palestine Liberation Organization must not be detained or tried for matters they committed before the Oslo peace accord of September 13, 1993," Erekat said. "This interim agreement...

If Hillary wins, would Huma Abedin, Hillary's long-time aide (and presently working at the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation) have access to the White House? It would seem so. Given that, would her husband - Anthony Weiner - at least have a modicum of access to the White House, too? Bill and Tony: the not-so-odd-couple? Scandals magnifique?

It looks like somebody is going to have to update the Waco Siege page on Wikipedia. Apparently the whitewashed history that former President Bill Clinton would like us to believe regarding the 1993 federal assault on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, is missing important details regarding his own personal involvement. In response to Bill Clinton’s highly publicized linking of the Tea Party movement to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing in an op-ed piece for the New York Times, former Clinton adviser Dick Morris disclosed on Monday that it was Clinton himself, and not Attorney General Janet Reno, as...

(AP File) There's a new narrative taking hold in the wake of the recent Tea Party protests and the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing: The Tea Partiers' intense opposition to the Obama administration has led to overheated political rhetoric, which could in turn lead to violence, perhaps as devastating as Oklahoma City.Former President Clinton is the leading voice of this new narrative. In newspaper interviews, television appearances and a widely discussed speech Friday, Clinton said it's "legitimate" to draw "parallels to the time running up to Oklahoma City and a lot of the political discord that exists...

During a discussion on O'Reilly about Bill Clinton's recent attempts to compare the Tea Party movement to the impact of conservative talk radio like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, etc. as having caused Timothy McVay to bomb the Oklahomea Federal building, Dick Morris suggested that Bill should zipper it because Clinton had indicated that this is the first time that he has divulged a comment by Bill that he had to renominate Janet Reno for another term as Attorney General or she would go public about Waco.br>WOW!!!!!

September 6, 1999 WASHINGTON--A former government officer has told investigators that members of the secret Army unit Delta Force said they participated in a shoot-out during the final assault on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. The witness, according to congressional sources, has already named names; and will soon offer his account under oath! The development caused panic and confusion at the top levels of the Justice Department and the FBI over the holiday weekend, leaving one top official scrambling for details. FBI Director Freeh has demanded a full briefing, one agency source divulged late...

A massive amount of sensitive, national security-related information from the Clinton administration has gone missing from the national archives. The Inspector General of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) told congressional committee staffers Tuesday that a hard drive containing over a terabyte of information -- the equivalent of millions of books--went missing from the NARA facility in College Park, Md., sometime between October 2008 and March 2009. The Department of Justice and the Secret Service are conducting an investigation, but it's so far unclear whether the drive was lost as the result of a crime or an accident. That...

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton won the Florida Democratic primary on Tuesday, a contest that generated extraordinary voter interest even though the result will have no practical impact because no delegates were at stake. With 71 percent of the vote counted, Mrs. Clinton, of New York, was running ahead of Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, 50 percent to 32 percent. Former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina was third, with 15 percent. None of the Democratic candidates campaigned actively here, fulfilling a pledge to the Democratic National Committee, which punished Florida Democrats for jumping the line by scheduling their primary before...
