The Texas Senate's Most-Feared Mouth is on the air from Austin. From a nearly empty basement cubicle in a Congress Avenue high-rise, "The Dan Patrick Show" debuted Wednesday afternoon from Austin. Patrick, a newly sworn-in senator from Houston, said he thinks he is the only legislator in the country with his own talk show. "This is the Voice of Texas," Patrick intoned in his radio voice, as he opened Patrick's first show from the capital city began just a few hours after he introduced an abortion bill. His bill would make performing most abortions illegal in Texas, if Roe v....

When Howard Stern begins his satellite radio career on January 9th, he may learn that he hasn't escaped the censors. Where terrestrial radio is sometimes disciplined by the FCC, satellite radio is governed by something far more malignant: The Orthodox Liberal-Left. At least, that was my experience with XM--the number one satellite radio service and rival to Stern's Sirius. I was aggressively sought by XM to do a show. But XM's left-wing programming officials' idea of what my views should be were far more restrictive than a governmental body properly trying to enforce decency in extreme cases. At XM, they...

Trib's Zorn points to IR in today's "Land of Linkin'" Eric Zorn of the Chicago Tribune points out Illinois Review on his blog today. After mentioning fellow conservative blogger Tom Roeser in a piece entitled Land of Linkin' (wish I'd have thought of that!) Zorn writes, Fran Eaton's politics aren't my own either. But Eaton, formerly of the now pining-for-the-fjords Illinois Leader, is now appearing on the new Illinois Review blog. It promises to be the "crossroads of the conservative community." Thanks, Eric . . . a mention means a lot . . . Link: Chicago Tribune | Eric Zorn....

THE TONY SNOW SHOW, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2005 GUESS WHAT YOUR KIDS ARE LEARNING! The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has just upheld public schools' right to distribute explicit information about sex to first graders. Is there anything parents can do to stop this? WHERE'S THE BEEF? The federal government appropriated a massive amount of aid to help Katrina victims, but recovery officials are not sure where all that cash is going. Is anyone overseeing where your money is spent?TOLERANCE AT ITS FINEST: Maryland Democrats are pelting Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, the first black person elected to statewide office and the...

Is conservative talk radio in trouble? Have listeners become bored with their once-favorite personalities? Be careful what you believe: While there are some dark clouds on the horizon, the conservative format is still strong, despite limited audience erosion. Here's where the contention began: Last week, Arbitron radio ratings revealed that outside of a few cities, the much-touted liberal talk stations are not finding much of an audience.

Does anyone know of a web site or guide that would list the times and stations that conservative talkers are broadcast on short wave radio? Does anyone know if Sean Hannity will be available on another south east Florida radio satation (non short wave?) Is Laura Inghram, Michael Savage, or Tony Snow heard on any south east Florida radio stations?
