The June 2017 meeting at America's National Institutes of Health (NIH) held by Shi Zhengli – known as 'Batwoman' because of her work on sampling and sequencing the animals' viruses – will bolster fears of Western collusion in a Chinese cover-up after Covid resulted from a reckless laboratory experiment. A new cache of documents, obtained by Freedom of Information campaigners and seen by The Mail on Sunday, reveal the extent to which the controversial work at the Wuhan Institute of Virology was supported, and often funded, by America. They show that US researchers seeking funding for work to engineer 'spike...

A long time ago in a pre-COVID universe far, far away, blockbusters opened around the globe simultaneously or nearly so. In 1975, “Jaws” set the blueprint. Concentrate marketing. Open wide. Pack them in. Since then, Hollywood has turned opening weekends into an all-out assault. Staggered rollouts still happen, of course, but the biggest films are dropped like carpet bombs. Anything less risks losing the attention of moviegoers. Global debuts north of $300 million became commonplace. Last year, “Avengers: Endgame” made well north of $1 billion in a couple days. A long time ago in a pre-COVID universe far, far away,...

An Army Air Corps veteran who survived WWII has now beaten the coronavirus after being "in the fight of his life," according to a report on Friday. John MacKay, 100, is currently housed at Holyoke Soldiers' Home in Massachusetts, which is described as having the deadliest known outbreak at a long-term care facility in the U.S. The home has seen at least 70 veterans killed by the virus. “It’s a miracle. It is,” said his daughter, Susan Regensburger, according to Boston's WFXT. “He is a fighter."

There has been story upon story of people dying from “coronavirus” when in fact they died of other causes. I have heard of three such stories this week alone, two in the Bronx and one in Queens. The one I heard from a client just an hour ago was the most egregious. The client’s father was 88 years old and in a nursing home suffering from the terrible effects of Alzheimer’s. He also had diabetes and was a cancer survivor. Last December he stopped eating many foods he previously enjoyed as his condition was deteriorating. About a month ago he...

Willow Creek, Montana (CNN)The children filed in, one by one, keeping their distance, to have their temperature taken at the door as Willow Creek School in Montana opened Thursday. "They're incredibly excited. They are so glad to be back," said Erika Wahl, the mother of two students at the school, which has between 50 and 60 students in grades K-12. "They miss their teachers, they miss their friends." While 48 states and Washington DC have ordered or recommended that schools close through the end of the academic year because of the coronavirus pandemic, schools in Montana and in Idaho opened...

The World Health Organization has suggested that deliberately infecting healthy volunteers with coronavirus may help speed up the search for a potential vaccine. In a report released Wednesday, the WHO, who have been under pressure for their initial response to the outbreak in China and subsequent global pandemic, suggested that so-called “challenge studies” can “be substantially faster to conduct than vaccine field trials.” “Well designed challenge studies might thus not only accelerate COVID-19 vaccine development, but also make it more likely that the vaccines ultimately deployed are more effective,” the report’s preamble suggests.

The basic national divide between conservative America and liberal/left America that has existed for decades – really since the 1960s – is continuing on in the new environment caused by the coronavirus crisis. The American Right continues to want a society informed by its Judeo-Christian heritage, given force by a government in which the original intent of the Constitution prevails, and its objective of limited government. The American Left continues to want an expansive government with a messianic character, empowered to do whatever is deemed necessary for its vision of “a better world,” and aided by science and technology. The...

A Chinese city on the Russian border is entering a "lockdown" due to an increase in coronavirus cases - even as the rest of China cautiously opens up. In Suifenhe, 1,000 miles from Beijing, people have been ordered to stay indoors, with some exceptions. The border is closed to people, although not goods, and a 600-bed isolation hospital is being built.

BEIJING—China has once again claimed no new deaths by coronavirus today, drawing praise from the American media. President Xi Jinping made the extraordinary claim even as a peasant pushed a cart filled with dead bodies behind him, shouting, "Bring out your dead!" the entire time. "No, no one is dead," President Xi assured the media. "We have completely cured everything." The communist dictator claimed they have cured the virus using sheep's bladders, which they also use to prevent earthquakes. His scientists also discovered the earth to be banana-shaped. As he continued to claim everything is perfectly fine in China, the...

What is life without freedom? What will the lives “saved” by lock-downs be like? I don’t think we know for sure. But the nanny state tyrannies terrify me. It doesn’t seem smart to let fear bring us down: https://freedom-demokrasi-and-civilised-humanity.com/2020/04/01/are-we-all-april-fools/

Status of COVID-19 As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious diseases (HCID) in the UK. The 4 nations public health HCID group made an interim recommendation in January 2020 to classify COVID-19 as an HCID. This was based on consideration of the UK HCID criteria about the virus and the disease with information available during the early stages of the outbreak. Now that more is known about COVID-19, the public health bodies in the UK have reviewed the most up to date information about COVID-19 against the UK HCID criteria. They...

The Food and Drug Administration reported the first U.S. drug shortage due to Covid-19 on Thursday night, far earlier than experts had expected the epidemic to cause disruptions to the drug supply chain. In a statement, the FDA commissioner, Stephen Hahn, said that a drug manufacturer had “just notified” the FDA that a shortage recently reported to the agency was due to an issue manufacturing the drug’s active pharmaceutical ingredient at a facility affected by the new coronavirus.
