Links to the "Beach Impeach" site were frequent on Dem. Underground last week. As if their Bush-hatred wasn't bad enough, their "christmas carols" page really takes the cake. Where does one start? The misappropriation of Xmas Carols? The misspelling of "Antarctica?" The fact that polar bears don't live in Antarctica? Although the first carol was amusing unschooled piffle, the rest unfortunately are pure Bush-hatred and 9/11 conspiracy-theorist dreck. Must the Dems pander to such pitiful self-demeaning wingnuttery?

If the Democrats win one of either houses of Congress... • It will be the end of the Bush presidency... Snip Bush will have to prosecute a war, while being hounded by critics (who have a say in budgetary matters) and enjoying little popular support. The question is how the Bush White House will deal with this radically new reality - that is, if it can.
  • Rove Scandal: Finally, a Real Distraction (sort of barf alert, but begruding admiration from Corn)

July 20, 2005 Rove Scandal: Finally, a Real Distraction Is Karl Rove in so much trouble that the White House really did believe it was necessary to rush out the nomination of John Roberts to the Supreme Court? Bloomberg News did report that the White House accelerated its schedule on the Roberts nomination to draw attention to another news story. At least, the Bush gang in this case relied on something real--a Supreme Court nomination--to distract and not the usual mis- or disinformation. (See postings below.) This will likely work for several days--longer if the Democrats and the progressive groups...

  • Is the President a Pathological Liar? Bush’s unhealthy relationship with reality

Is the President a Pathological Liar? Bush’s unhealthy relationship with reality by David Corn It was a set-up question. Conservative radio talk-show host Michael Medved was trying to bait me, to push me into saying something so out of whack about the commander in chief that I would destroy my own credibility before the audience of his nationally syndicated show. It was a ruse I’ve become quite familiar with in recent weeks, since I published a book demurely titled The Lies of George W. Bush: Mastering the Politics of Deception. In scores of media interviews, right-wing hosts have pressed me...
