On this week’s broadcast of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” former Attorney General Eric Holder suggested President Joe Biden “let the system do its work” in the event of a hypothetical conviction of former President Donald Trump. Holder argued for signs of remorse from Trump and that he had turned his life around before Biden granted the pardon.

Three men accused of supporting a plot to kidnap Michigan’s governor were convicted of all charges Wednesday, a triumph for state prosecutors after months of mixed results in the main case in federal court. Joe Morrison, his father-in-law Pete Musico, and Paul Bellar were found guilty of providing “material support” for a terrorist act as members of a paramilitary group, the Wolverine Watchmen. They held gun drills in rural Jackson County with a leader of the scheme, Adam Fox, who was disgusted with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and other officials in 2020 and said he wanted to kidnap her. California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced on Thursday that Arizona, Indiana, Louisiana, and Utah would be added to the list of states that California halts state-sponsored travel to due to recent LGBT restriction laws. Ever since AB 1887 was passed in 2016, California has prohibited state-funded and state-sponsored travel to states with discriminatory LGBT laws on the books. Until Friday, 18 states have had travel bans enacted, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. Many lawsuits by several of the affected states...

New York State Attorney General Letitia James said Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” that President Donald Trump could not “avoid justice” in New York even with a possible maneuver like stepping down before January 20 and having a then-sworn-in President Mike Pence pardon him.James said, “The vast majority of legal scholars have indicated that he cannot pardon himself. What he could do is step down and allow the vice president, Vice President Pence, to pardon him. In all likelihood, I suspect he’ll pardon his family members, his children, his son-in-law, and individuals in his administration, as well as some of...

The New York Attorney General has predicted that President Donald Trump could temporarily step down before the end of his term, allowing Vice President Pence to pre-emptively pardon him for federal crimes. AG Letitia James is currently carrying out a civil investigation into Trump's businesses and their connections to Deutsch Bank and was appearing on ABC's The View on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing probe into the Trump family's business activities. She explained that while Trump may be able to pre-emptively pardon his family members and close associates, he can not pardon himself.
