Pope Francis, a leading advocate of Doormat Christianity, is at it again. Although it is traditional for papal podiums to depict the crucifix, during his recent visit to the island of Malta, Pope Francis ditched the cross lest it offend Muslim migrants. As the archdiocese of Malta openly admitted, “The podium will not be adorned with a crucifix, given that the majority of migrants are Muslim.” Instead, the podium backdrop used by Francis consisted of recycled plastic bottles with red blobs meant to highlight the two primary reasons Francis was visiting Malta — to defend migrants and the environment. “When...

Public schools (in Italy) can display crucifix when decided democratically, court rulesROME (CNS) — Italy’s highest court of appeal has ruled that public school classrooms can approve the presence of the crucifix because it does not discriminate against anyone. The court specified, however, that all religious symbols can also be “welcomed” as long as it is decided in a democratic, civil and “gentle” manner by students and faculty together. That means, it said, all decisions regarding their presence must never be imposed and must seek “reasonable accommodation” between the different positions or convictions of people in the school community that includes respecting...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Amy Coney Barrett has eloquently defended herself through the Senate confirmation hearings this morning. But as Dems grew increasingly vicious, she was forced to turn to desperate measures. After several hours of hearings, Barrett pulled out a large crucifix and held it aloft. A light shone from the heavens, and the Democrats knew they were defeated. They shrunk back and began to hiss. "Noooo!" cried Senator Richard Blumenthal. "It burns us! Take it away!" He dove under his desk to hide from its light.

According to an Old English manuscript chronicling the history of the Anglo-Saxons, a mysterious "red crucifix" appeared in the "heavens" over Britain one evening in A.D. 774. Now astronomers say it may have been the supernova explosion that sprinkled unexplained traces of carbon-14 in tree rings that year, halfway around the world in Japan. Jonathon Allen, an undergraduate student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, made the connection this week after listening to a Nature podcast. He heard a team of Japanese scientists discussing new research in which they measured an odd spike in carbon-14 levels in tree rings...

In the previous article, I mentioned Blessed Sr. Maria Restitua Kafka in the context of Cardinal Reinhold Marx's latest demonstration of his un-Catholicity. As you know, His Eminence has railed against the Bavarian state for ordering all official buildings to display a Crucifix. Moving onto more hopeful and positive things, the faithful witness of Blessed Sr. Kafka is a beautiful example upon which all Catholics could fruitfully meditate; thus deriving encouragement, strength and a desire to emulate such heroic virtue for God's greater glory. Quite simply, because of her deep love for Christ, Sr. Kafka was resolute in her...

A Different Look at the Cross Msgr. Charles Pope • March 15, 2018 • When I was young and throughout my seminary years, I usually contemplated the crucifix and Jesus’ suffering on the Cross somberly. It was my sin that had put Him there, that had made Him suffer. The Cross was something that compelled a silent reverence in me, and suggested that I meditate deeply on what Jesus had to endure. I would often think of John, Mary, and the other women beneath the Cross, mournfully beholding Jesus’ slow, painful death. These were heavy and somber notes, but deeply...

Volunteers have criticised the Red Cross charity after receiving a communication telling them to remove crucifixes from the walls of their branches as the organisation looks to become more secular. André Rouffart, president of the Red Cross in Verviers, said: “We were asked to respect the principles of the Red Cross”, and not to distinguish between race or religious belief 7sur7 reports. Mr. Rouffart said there had been pushback from volunteers and other members on...

Restorers of an 18th century wooden statue of Jesus Christ have reportedly found a calligraphed note that a priest hid in the Messiah's rear end. The note dates back to 1777 and is signed by Joaquin Minguez, priest of the cathedral of Burgo de Osma at the time, the statue's restorers claim. It reportedly discusses popular Spanish pastimes, the local village's economy, political and religious matters, famous people, and other topics.

After Pope Francis early in his papacy decried capitalism as "trickle-down economics" — a polemical phrase coined by the left during the Reagan years that Francis frequently borrows — radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh commented, "This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the Pope." Talk show host Michael Savage called him "Lenin’s pope." Pope Francis took such comments as a compliment. "I have met many Marxists in my life who are good people, so I don’t feel offended," he told the Italian press. Pope Francis grew up in socialist Argentina, an experience that left a...

Berlin’s neutrality law is most often discussed in relation to the Islamic headscarf. But one Christian teacher has found that it applies to other religions as well. A Protestant teacher working in the Wedding district of Berlin was told to immediately stop wearing her cross necklace, the German Catholic News Agency (KNA) reported on Tuesday. Consistorial president of the Berlin-Brandenburg Protestant Church Jörg Antoine confirmed last week that the woman had been given the instructions, which were based on Berlin’s neutrality law that prohibits teachers and other public sector workers from wearing religious symbols. The neutrality law has generally applied...

When amateur archaeologist Dennis Fabricius Holm got off work early last Friday and decided to spend a couple of hours searching a little field in Funen with his metal detector, little did he know he was about to make history. Holm stumbled across one of the most extraordinary finds in recent times near the little town of Aunslev when he discovered a crucifix that dates back about 1,100 years – Denmark’s oldest crucifix ever found. It could rewrite Danish history. “It’s a completely sensational find that dates back to the first half of the 900s,” Malene Refshauge Beck, a curator...

A cross discovered by an amateur Danish archaeologist may "change history" according to an expert, who believes the cross may date from before Christianity is thought to have reached Denmark. An amateur archaeologist on the island of Funen made a startling discovery last week – a necklace resembling Jesus on the cross. But after posting a picture of the discovery on Facebook, Dennis Fabricius Holm quickly found that the item may have a lot more significance than he had initially thought. “I finished work early last Friday, so I decided to spend a couple of hours searching with my metal...

As many observed, Pope Francis’ January intention video does not include a crucifix, as the most sacred symbol of Christianity. But it is much worse, than a missing crucifix. The Pope’s very own crucifix is obscured and hidden. We see the chain around his neck, but the crucifix is invisible in the video. The Pope’s cross, which he always wears is concealed and obscured during the 1 1/2 minute “we are all one faith†video. The strategic placement of the Pope’s handheld script, in front of his crucifix hanging from his neck. Significantly, his script is held to block the...

Video footage of Muslim missionaries preaching and converting Africans in the Christian-majority states of Malawi and Uganda, show the Islamic leaders teaching the people to "bear witness" that Allah is god, his messenger is Muhammed, and "Jesus is the slave of Allah and his Messenger." Many of the people repeating the Islamic instructions are young but there are also many middle-aged and older people and, in one case, an apparently former Christian teen who is ordered to tear a crucifix from around his neck and "bear witness" to Allah. ...
