  • Dallas most popular NFL team, Jags least

The Dallas Cowboys may be a few years from their last Super Bowl, but they are the favorite football team among adults who follow professional football, rising one spot since last year. Since this survey began in 1998, the Cowboys have always been in one of the top four positions, usually in the top two. The Indianapolis Colts have continued their steady rise in the rankings and move up one spot, from No. 3 last year to No 2 this year. In 1999, the Colts were tied for No. 27 and have moved up each year since. Rounding out the...

TEHRAN, Iran - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's comment that there are no gays in Iran was cut out of official Farsi transcripts of his appearance at Columbia University Monday. Not all media deleted the comments: State-run television left them in a videotaped recording of the speech broadcast Tuesday. The complete transcript was published in the English-language version of the state news agency report and some newspapers ran the comments Wednesday. But homosexuality, which remains highly sensitive in Iran, is rarely discussed in Farsi-language official media. Gay sex is prohibited, and in some circumstances, people convicted of it can be sentenced to...

Tony Romo is the one to take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl and restore the balance of power in NFC, no more false leaders such as Quincy Carter, Ryan Leaf, or Drew Hansen. The return of Dallas as the Supreme Team. Next year, Romo, and the Cowboys will take the mantle from the New England Patriots on November 22nd, 2007 and the face each other in a Duel of Fates.

MIAMI — The Miami Dolphins saw enough potential in Marcus Vick _ both on- and off-the-field _ to believe he deserves a chance as a free agent. Vick, the brother of Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick, signed with the Dolphins on Monday, agreeing to a free-agent deal after his many problems at Virginia Tech cost him a chance to be selected in the NFL draft.

The Seattle Seahawks are about to grace us with their god-awful all-seafoam green uniforms thanks to Pittsburgh's decision to wear their white jerseys. A Pittsburgh home jersey vs a Seattle road jersey would have made a much more aesthetically pleasing game to watch. A white/yellow vs all-seafoam green is going to mix like a Janet Jackson and Charlotte Church half-time show. Why discuss this? Because its Thursday, pitchers and catchers don't report to camp for three weeks and Cowboys aren't playing in the Dallas Invitational in Detroit. Got something better? (Plus I fancy myself as a uniform czar)
  • Cowboys Are My Weakness (Very funny Brokeback article- by Larry David)

SOMEBODY had to write this, and it might as well be me. I haven't seen "Brokeback Mountain," nor do I have any intention of seeing it. In fact, cowboys would have to lasso me, drag me into the theater and tie me to the seat, and even then I would make every effort to close my eyes and cover my ears. And I love gay people. Hey, I've got gay acquaintances. Good acquaintances, who know they can call me anytime if they had my phone number. I'm for gay marriage, gay divorce, gay this and gay that. I just don't...
  • Semi-News: “Brokeback Mountain” Success Inspires Hollywood

Exhibitor Relations Co. reports that over Dec. 10-11 weekend, the film brought in the highest per-screen average for any film release in 2005. "Brokeback Mountain" has also landed awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics Associations and the New York Film Critics Circle. Plans are now in the works to do a gay/bestiality version of the “Lone Ranger.” Pinky Sfinktir, press secretary for the Screen Actors’ Guild, called the move a “no-brainer.” “If movie-goers turn out to see two no-name cowboys go at it, imagine the impact when icons like the Lone Ranger and Tonto hit the sack together,” said...

Jim-Bob Zimmerschied is not a happy cowboy. "They've gone and killed John Wayne with this movie," he says angrily, beer in hand. "I've been doing this job all my life and I ain't never met no gay cowboy. It wouldn't be right." The target of Mr Zimmerschied's outburst is Brokeback Mountain, the Hollywood Western-with-a-twist that opens in London this week and is already being tipped for Oscar success. The "gay cowboy flick", as it has been dubbed in America, is directed by Ang Lee and stars Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal as two young ranch hands who begin a long-term...
