The poll released last week by Fox News that claimed most Americans favor the impeachment of President Trump underrepresented Republicans and Independents, The Post has found. The poll said 51% of voters were in favor of impeachment and removal from office, while 40% did not want him impeached. Princeton New Jersey pollster Braun Research, which conducted the survey, noted 48% of its respondents were Democrats. But the actual breakdown of party affiliation is 31% Democrat, 29% Republican, and 38% Independent, according to Gallup. Robert Patterson, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, said Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) gave "aid and comfort to the rioters and the protestors" with his op-ed in Time against the militarization of local police forces. Pasco County’s Republican Tax Collector, Mike Fasano, likely provided the margin of victory for liberal Democrat Amanda Murphy yesterday as she narrowly won a special election to replace Fasano in the Florida House of Representatives. Murphy won the election over Republican Bill Gunter by just 300 votes out of nearly 20,000 votes cast. After resigning his seat in the Florida House to accept appointment as Pasco County Tax Collector, Fasano pledged to remain neutral regarding the special election.
