Life is not just a bowl of cherries, nor is life necessarily a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury. However, both life and politics can benefit from advice and warnings provided by tales and fiction. This is certainly relevant to the present political and military predicament, as the U.S. Trump administration has to consider options to confront the challenging behavior of North Korea. In 1935, French playwright Jean Giraudoux wrote The Trojan War Will Not Take Place, a work implicitly critical of the diplomacy that brought on World War I and could lead to World War...

Former NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman has gifted North Korea's totalitarian leader some light reading: "Trump: The Art of the Deal." Rodman brought a copy of President Donald Trump's book for Kim Jong Un during his latest visit to the hermetic nation. Rodman on Thursday presented the book to North Korea's sports minister, Kim Il Guk, according to The Associated Press. The AP has a bureau in the country and released photographs from the visit. Among other gifts Rodman presented were a "Where's Waldo?" book – which The Washington Post says was likely a gift for Kim Jong Un's daughter...

Dennis Rodman lands in North Korea on June 13, the same day that the North Koreans suddenly free American college student Otto Warmbier. Coincidence? The State Department says so. A spokesman said that Rodman had nothing to do with Warmbier’s release. There’s no evidence that Rodman helped secure the release of Warmbier, a University of Virginia college student sentenced in 2016 to hard labor for ripping down a propaganda poster. The Secretary of State’s initial statement on Warmbier’s release made no mention of Rodman. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announced June 13 that Warmbier was being released. Sadly, though,...

The little girl does look amazingly like the baby-faced supreme leader as she totes around a stuffed Dennis Rodman Chicago Bulls doll.

Donald Trump continues to gain over his opponents in a variety of polls as he works to secure the Republican nomination for president, and now it seems he has found one more fan - Dennis Rodman. Rodman took to Twitter on Friday and wrote; '@realdonaldtrump has been a great friend for many years. We don't need another politician, we need a businessman like Mr. Trump! Trump 2016.' Trump seemed to genuinely appreciate the endorsement as well, writing back to Rodman; 'Thank you @DennisRodman. It's time to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain! I hope you are doing well!' Dennis Rodman is patiently waiting for the moment when the West credits him for single-handedly opening up North Korea to the rest of the world. The former basketball star and failed vigilante-diplomat told ESPN's Mark Schwarz that he "hated" America's reaction to his trip to the country, but apologized "if I put anybody in harm's way." Rodman, who returned from the limelight after a hiatus and trip to rehab, told Schwarz that he had high hopes for North Korea. "It's so intriguing to hear him talk about sports," Rodman told Schwarz of the nation's dictator, Kim Jong-Un, the foremost violator...

Dennis Rodman checking himself into an alcohol rehabilitation center upon returning from a trip to North Korea was the first news all over the U.S. media, but at that time, he confirmed only to the fact that he is an addict and has never recovered from the habit. But according to a report cited by Free North Korea Radio, he was practically forced out of the hermit kingdom for his full-blown drunk and disorderly behavior. “Rodman was drunk the whole week of his stay. And the night before he left for the U.S., he was drunk unconscious, and vomited everywhere...

Mike Tyson: ‘Dennis Rodman Is Guilty Of Treason’ January 10, 2014 3:09 PM PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It takes a lot to shock and outrage Mike Tyson. Sounds like a job for Dennis Rodman. As if Rodman’s recent trip to North Korea, for an exhibition game with several former NBA players, didn’t raise enough eyebrows, Rodman’s appearance on CNN with Chris Cuomo raised just about all of them. Rodman’s interview turned into an outburst, as he seemed to defend policies of North Korea while yelling at Cuomo. The other players that were along for the ride with Rodman sat silently and...

Former NBA player Dennis Rodman expressed his regret over controversial comments he made regarding imprisoned Christian missionary Kenneth Bae in North Korea, blaming them on drinking and stress. "I want to apologize. I take full responsibility for my actions," Rodman said on Thursday through his publicist Jules Feiler in an email to The Associated Press. "It had been a very stressful day. Some of my teammates were leaving because of pressure from their families and business associates. My dreams of basketball diplomacy was quickly falling apart. I had been drinking. It's not an excuse but by the time the interview...

Rodman Brings Bread and Circuses to Pyongyang 8:16 AM, Jan 7, 2014 • By DENNIS P. HALPIN .... The bread being brought by Rodman to accompany the circus is allegedly in the form of luxury birthday gifts for the North Korean dictator and his wife. Rodman seems oblivous to North Korea’s near starvation of its people, human rights atrocities, gulags, and nuclear and missile adventurism, and appears equally unconcerned that providing Pyongyang with any luxury goods is a violation of the sanctions imposed by United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution 2094, adopted on March 7, 2013, and previous resolutions .....

PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — Dennis Rodman sang "Happy Birthday" to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un before leading a squad of former NBA stars for a friendly game Wednesday as part of his "basketball diplomacy" that has been criticized in the United States. Rodman dedicated the game to his "best friend" Kim, who along with his wife and other senior officials and their wives watched from a special seating area. The capacity crowd of about 14,000 at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium clapped loudly as Rodman sang a verse from the birthday song.

Why does the MSM not ignore Rodman instead? Why do they call him irrelevant, and then continually act as if he is relevant? Dennis Rodman is indeed a buffoon, but has this nation been involved in overthrows - as in the overthrow of elected Iranian leaders (1953) - only later to regret it? What about Pinochet, and our supposed support of a coup, which we supposedly criticized in public but were involved with in secret? Were we involved? Did we later regret it? Would Dennis Rodman be a buffoon to Bill O'Reilly (which O'Reilly called him last night) had it...

(CNN) -- Dennis Rodman defended his visit to North Korea with a team of fellow former NBA players in a combative exchange Tuesday, saying the trip was a "great idea for the world." In an exclusive interview with Chris Cuomo of CNN's "New Day," Rodman reacted angrily when pressed on whether the group should have traveled there, given recent events in the secretive country. The trip takes place weeks after North Korea announced the purge and execution of leader Kim Jong Un's once-powerful uncle. The other former NBA players are due to play Wednesday in a basketball game on Kim's...

North Korea is the most repressive regime on Earth. It is very difficult to enter the country, and difficult to leave. There are no direct flights, and you still have to go through a huge process even if you go through China. So how does a washed-up, 50-something year old ex-NBA star gets unprecedented access. Rodman is not the millionaire he was in the 1990s. Who in our government is giving Rodman clearance to visit North Korea? Why is no one speaking out on this?
