The former Space Shuttle and combat pilot lends his credibility to Breitling’s timepieces.

It may soon become a well-trod adage that when you ask Mike Rowe a snarky, insulting question on his Facebook page, you might find yourself on the receiving end of one of Rowe’s measured, civil, and devastatingly spot-on responses. So it was with a decidedly left-leaning guy named Jim Green who posted a series of inflammatory points about Republicans (with a lot of ALL-CAPPED words and about the same number of exclamation points), which Rowe apparently spotted while aboard a flight:

Demonstrations continue in the St. Louis area, as a grand jury decides if it will indict a white police officer for shooting a black teen. Sunday marked 100 days since the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson. A light snow falling didn’t stop dozens of young adults from chanting “Arrest Darren Wilson” (the Ferguson police officer) and marching to the Delmar Loop to hold a “Die In” protest in the middle of the street in front of the Tivoli Theater.

By now we're familiar with some of the scarier potential impacts of climate change: Floods, fires, stronger hurricanes, violent conflicts. Well, here's a new one to add to your nightmares. Lightning strikes in the continental United States will increase roughly 12 percent for every degree Celsius of global warming, a study published today in Science finds. If warming continues unchecked, that could translate into a 50 percent increase in lightning by the end of the century—three strikes then for every two strikes now. (On average, there are currently about 25 million strikes per year.)

Elizabeth Warren insists she has no interest in running for president in 2016, but the rich liberals to whom she spoke Thursday afternoon seemed unwilling to take ‘no’ for an answer. The Massachusetts senator got a rock stars’ welcome during a closed-door speech to major donors, one of whom interrupted her by yelling “Run, Liz, Run!”

The ballot item, Measure R, spearheaded by actor, director and producer Rob Reiner and backed by entertainment-industry figures including Barbra Streisand, Tom Hanks and David Geffen, passed with 59 percent of the vote, according to election results released today.

As UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said of the actor in making the appointment last year: Mr. DiCaprio is a credible voice in the environmental movement, and has a considerable platform to amplify its message. I am pleased he has chosen to add his voice to UN efforts to raise awareness of the urgency and benefits of acting now to combat climate change.

In the middle of President Obama’s speech promoting a Democrat for Wisconsin governor Tuesday night, part of the crowd began to walk out on him – and it’s the second time it’s happened in just over a week. Obama was still speaking as people could be seen filing out of the room.

Billionaire Tom Steyer’s climate change super-PAC, NextGen Climate Action, has targeted Colorado Republican U.S. Senate candidate Cory Gardner for his support of a “personhood” measure that would give legal rights to humans beginning at conception.

Recent polls put climate change low on the list of Americans' pressing concerns, but that's not how EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy sees it: "From all the recent public opinion work out there on climate change, what stands out to me is this: First, people overwhelmingly consider climate change a problem, and they want action. And second, what’s even more impressive, is the overwhelming support specifically for EPA action to curb carbon pollution from power plants."

Doofus is an unusual but appropriate appellation for President Barack Hussein Obama. What Is A Doofus? "Doofus" is slang referring to a boob, for which the thesaurus lists the following synonyms -- idiot, nitwit, dunce, fathead, fool, goof, goon, imbecile, jerk. Some might argue that these synonyms may be inapplicable. Perhaps, but a diminishing percentage would argue that none are applicable. Such a characterization of the president five years ago might have seemed radical or harsh. Even the few who felt that way are probably surprised at the incomparable ineptness of Obama and his Administration.

Nobody credits newly-minted Ebola czar (for the sake of rhyme, shouldn’t it be “Ebola Ayatollah”) Ron Klain with any scientific credibility, but his embrace of warmist doctrine is nonetheless interesting. Back in 2011, when he was coming off his gig as Joe Biden’s chief of staff, Klain went on MSNBC to spout his scientific wisdom. Politico took notice:

I’m not a psychiatrist, I haven’t sat down and interviewed George Zimmerman or the cop who shot Michael Brown, I don’t know what their motives are, I don’t know what kind of people they are, what kind of childhood traumas they have experienced. But I don’t think it’s nuts that in a certain way, when that cop killed Michael Brown, and when George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin, they were killing Barack Obama.

Last night Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a fundraiser for President Obama and the Democrats at her ritzy home in Brentwood, California. Paltrow is worth $140 million dollars and was raised in a rich, privileged family before making her way to the big screen. But that didn't stop her from classifying herself as a "working mother" concerned about equal pay for women, an issue Obama has been dishonestly harping on.

With a late-November deadline approaching, America's top diplomat is plunging back into Iranian nuclear talks with one eye on his adversary and the other on developments at home, as pressure rises in Washington for a deal ensuring the Islamic republic cannot become a nuclear state. The prospect of a Republican takeover of the Senate means Secretary of State John Kerry will be on a tight leash.

Folks, when I saw what the Democrats are doing to this American black woman in Utah, I had to sound the alarm. Black Republican Mia Love is running for Congress in Utah. Love's liberal opponent and the Democrats have pulled out all the stops, launching a hate website against her, “No love for Mia,” and a $300,000 smack-down ad campaign trashing the sister. Meanwhile, hypocritically, they accuse Republicans of having a war on women. Folks, it amazes me that Democrats, the MSM, and liberals continue to get away with their scam, portraying themselves as champions of minority empowerment.

Following his performance Friday night (September 26) at the El Corazon as part of a benefit concert for 15 Now, the grassroots organization that successfully fought for a $15 minimum wage in Seattle, Morello and his entourage allegedly tried to get “a special room” at The 5 Point Cafe even though the place was already “at capacity” and there was “a line” of people waiting to get in. The restaurant’s doorman apparently told Morello and his crew that he could not accommodate them, after which the guitarist took to his Twitter to blast the eatery, writing: “Five Point restaurant in...

The party in the new club continued into the wee hours Sunday morning. Strawberry daiquiris flowed. Music from DJ Bay Bay pulsed. Teens were chilling and dancing. Then came the gunfire. Witnesses said they heard dozens of rounds, maybe 100, rip through a storefront Miami nightclub called The Spot, wedged between a furniture store and a smoke shop. When the gunfire stopped, 15 young people were wounded, bloodied and dazed, the youngest of them 11 years old, the oldest 25. “Young people now, throughout the United States — Chicago or Miami or LA or wherever you’re at, even in small...

By now, everyone knows that there’s a revolving door between Democratic politics and the “objective” news media. But does it have to spin so fast? On September 10, CNN announced it hired former White House press secretary Jay Carney as a commentator, citing his “invaluable voice for the network” after his five years inside the Obama administration.

President Barack Obama compared outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder to Bobby Kennedy, who served in the position during his brother John F. Kennedy's presidency—a comparison Holder made about himself shortly thereafter. “Bobby Kennedy once said, ‘on this generation of Americans falls the full burden of proving to the world that we really mean it when we say all men are created free and equal before the law,'" Obama said at a press conference announcing Holder’s resignation.
