  • Vaccine Mandates Attacking Veterans and TSP Accounts???

    09/15/2021 5:24:57 PM PDT · by ducttape45 · 49 replies
I was just on a chat board for JD Farag ministries. On it, I was notified by one brother: 1. that they are concerned that this could get so bad that Biden could threaten pensions and TSP monies for non-refusal. 2. Another brother mentioned that he'd heard that service connected disabled veterans (100%) will lose their benefits starting 1 November if they don’t get the jab. Has anyone seen anything about either of those items happening? Thanks for your help in researching these potentially disturbing items of concern.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- METRO is getting pressure from veterans and a Houston congresswoman to act quickly on allowing disabled vets to drive the transit agency's high occupancy transit lanes for free, which most other Texas toll authorities offer. Surrounded by veterans Tuesday, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Houston, said she was baffled why the transit agency could not implement what she described as a "simple request." "A constituent called and said they wanted to be able to access the HOT lanes for free, without cost during off-peak hours," Jackson Lee said. "I really thought it was a simple request. I did...

President Barack Obama has declined to attend a dedication ceremony in October for a new memorial honoring American veterans who have been disabled fighting for their country in wars, according to sources close to the event. The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial (AVDLM), the first such memorial of its kind, is set to be dedicated during a ceremony on Oct. 5 near the National Mall in downtown Washington, D.C. However, Obama, who was first invited to attend the event in January, will not be among those in attendance, according to a veteran’s advocate familiar with the situation. This would...
  • Disabled Veterans to Be Exempted From Pension Cuts (Only Med Retired Early, Not VA Rated Disabled)

A massive spending bill taking shape on Capitol Hill is likely to repeal a recently enacted pension cut for disabled veterans. Capitol Hill aides said Wednesday that the $1 trillion-plus omnibus spending bill measure will reverse a 1 percentage point cut to annual cost-of-living increases that was inadvertently applied to more than 63,000 veterans who have left the military due to injury or disability. But the controversial pension cut included in last month's budget agreement would continue to apply to other military retirees. It would save about $6 billion over the coming decade, money that's being used to ease cuts...

**SNIP** Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, one of Congress' most outspoken liberals and a vehement opponent of chained CPI, warned Obama on Friday morning not to renege on his promise to avoid cuts to entitlement programs and veterans benefits as a way to reduce the deficit. “Millions of working people, seniors, disabled veterans, those who have lost a loved one in combat, and women will be extremely disappointed if President Obama caves into the long standing Republican effort to cut Social Security and benefits for disabled veterans and their survivors through a so-called chained CPI,” he said in a...

Mammoth Mountain couldn’t have asked for better weather for next week’s Operation Mountain Freedom, in which injured active duty servicemen and women and veterans learn how to ski or snowboard with the help of adaptive equipment. Since 2007, the resort, along with Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, has hosted the military and their families for a week of lessons, motivational speakers and community-building events. “It’s a gateway to learning what is possible,” says Cara Leonard, associate director of the nonprofit. “So many people that come through this program are able to look at what they accomplished, whether it’s skiing or snowboarding,...

Encouraged by the White House and using a political strategy devised by House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee have refused to negotiate with Senate colleagues over the contentious issue of allowing disabled veterans to also collect retirement pay. The impasse will last at least a week or two beyond Nov. 5, Election Day, and possibly until next year, keeping many retirees with disabilities in the dark over the size of future retirement checks.

‘Concurrent Receipt’ For Military Retireesa Matter of PrincipleBy Ronald F. Conley Legislative Action Center: Contact your congressmen WASHINGTON (Sept. 27, 2002) - "In matters of style swim with the current; in matters of principle stand like a rock," Thomas Jefferson said.White House bean counters and Pentagon political appointees are swimming in a century-long current of federal law that "soaks" military retirees who have service-connected disabilities. But the 2.8-million member American Legion, other advocacy groups and right-thinking members of Congress support the principle: A grateful nation owes just compensation to military retirees who incurred disabilities during a career of uniformed...

May 26, 2002 Disabled Veterans Lobby for Full Retirement Pay By THE NEW YORK TIMES WASHINGTON - On Oct. 8, 1967, when John Lawton began moving through the fog and rain of Vietnam to reach a group of fellow American soldiers ambushed in a rice field, his retirement pension could not have been farther from his mind. But much of that pension vanished that day, the moment bullets ripped into his chest, leg and arm. To help disabled veterans like Mr. Lawton live with their wounds, the government gives them a monthly check, called disability pay. But because of a...
