Actor and CBS executive Dwayne Hickman has died. Hickman passed away in Los Angeles on Sunday following a battle with Parkinson’s disease, his family confirmed, according to the Los Angeles Times. He was 87. Coincidentally, the date of Hickman’s passing, Jan. 9, is the birthday of his longtime friend and co-star on the show, Bob Denver, who died in 2005 at age 70. Before he became the “poster child of the...

Veto threat forced an overhaul, but senator sees progress on rights. State Sen. Sheila Kuehl has given up her hotly contested campaign to force changes in California school curriculum to reflect the contributions of gays and lesbians. Faced with a certain veto by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kuehl unveiled amendments Monday to Senate Bill 1437 that delete any requirement to alter curriculum. "I'm very disappointed that the governor twisted our arms on this," the Santa Monica Democrat said of the amendments, which she said eliminated 90 percent of her bill. Kuehl said she did not talk personally with Schwarzenegger, but that...

SAN FRANCISCO, May 13 — Sheila Kuehl has done a few things that someday may merit mention in the history books: more than a decade in the California Legislature, a public crusade against domestic violence and a stint as the tenacious busybody Zelda on the classic sitcom "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis." But if such immortality were to happen, Ms. Kuehl says, she would want one fact listed with the rest of her accomplishments: she is gay. So this year, Ms. Kuehl, a state senator representing western Los Angeles, introduced a bill to assure that lesbians and gay men...

WorldNetDaily states that if a bill introduced to the California legislature (SB1437) becomes law it could remove all references to gender in public schools. Even references to “Mom & Dad” could possibly be removed. Capitol Resource Institute warns that should the law pass it could possibly require the removal of “husband & wife” as the excepted norm in classroom literature, and gender–neutral bathrooms could become reality. The bill’s sponsor is California state Senator Sheila James Kuehl. Sen. Kuehl is none other than the lesbian actress who played Zelda Gilroy in the 1950s sit-com “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”, as...

Bob Denver, the bumbling namesake of "Gilligan's Island" who embarked on what was supposed to be a three-hour tour and endeared himself to generations of TV fans, has died at age 70. He died Friday at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in North Carolina of complications from treatment he was receiving for cancer, his agent, Mike Eisenstadt, told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
  • Why are coffeehouses over-run with DemocRATS?!?!? (Mod sets bongo aside, zots troll)

I live in a college town in North Carolina, and recently I went into a coffee shop to innocently purchase a cup of coffee. What I instead found was a veritable den of sin, filled with Marxists and DemocRATS. To wit: -The entire place stunk of patchoulli -Patrons were reading 'Tropic of Cancer', 'The Communist Manifesto', and 'Stupid White Men' -- titles that I would never want my good G*d-fearing children getting a hippie's length away from (of course, not a Bible to be found) -Two women were kissing (of course, I could only tell they were women upon further...
