It’s hard to think of a worse candidate for a reporter covering national security issues than a once-committed 9/11 truther, but The Huffington Post apparently could. “The Huffington Post’s Washington bureau has hired professional football player and 9/11 truther Donte Stallworth as a fellow, covering national security,” Politico’s Dylan Byers wrote in a lede that would not seem out of place in The Onion. The Huffington Post was apparently not deterred by either Stallworth’s controversial views on the September 11 attacks, or his concern that the swine flu vaccine was part of an elaborate plot, or his criminal record....

Stallworth is reportedly in stable condition, and suffered burns when the hot air balloon he was traveling in hit power lines. He was traveling in the hot air balloon with his girlfriend, and it's unknown whether or not she suffered any injuries as well. The New England Patriots signed Stallworth in 2012, but placed him on injured reserve after New England's Week 14 win over the Houston Texans. Stallworth suffered an ankle injury after hauling in a 63-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady, and unfortunately saw his season cut short as a result. The Patriots are believed to be interested...

Green Bay Packers fans turned out in droves to welcome their Super Bowl championship football team back to town on Monday. Fans lined the city streets all along the Packers’ route from Austin-Straubel Airport back to Lambeau Field after the team’s plane landed around 1:45 p.m. The players and coaches traveled in a caravan of Green Bay city buses, and on some streets fans were lined up as much as five or six people deep, on both sides. The crowds grew considerably larger the closer the team got to Lambeau. Upon arriving at the stadium, thousands of fans were waiting...
