The FBI’s reputation problems have accelerated with the arrest on corruption charges of Charles McGonigal, the former chief of counterintelligence for the FBI’s New York field office, one of the most powerful spy-hunters in the country - who also happened to be connected to Hunter Biden. In twin indictments last month, McGonigal was charged with taking secret cash payments from a former Albanian intelligence officer, holding secret meetings with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and attempting to remove top Kremlin oligarch Oleg Deripaska from a US sanctions list. The Albanians cited by prosecutors tie this scandal to Hunter Biden and...

Carlos Acevedo, director of Puerto Rico’s Office of Emergency Management, was dismissed Saturday. The governor appointed Maj. Gen. José J. Reyes, the adjutant general of the Puerto Rico National Guard, to replace him. Acevedo has denied allegations of mishandling, saying the agency has been actively distributing supplies, according to a statement released through the office of emergency management. No residents have been denied any supplies in the warehouse, including food, diapers, baby formula and cots, Acevedo said. He said about 600 pallets of water were distributed when Hurricane Dorian and Hurricane Karen threatened Puerto Rico and during a drought that...

Portsmouth Island is an 18 mile stretch of undeveloped barrier island south of Ocracocke. There is a private ferry that carries 4x4 vehicles over to a primitive fish camp. Most people fish and camp along the beach. All 18 miles were driveable. The link shows before and after views of the storm damage. Dozens of new inlets were created. It's a sad day for those of us who loved camping and fishing the entire island. Those days are gone for the foreseeable future. Link to photos

Photo by CNN NASSAU| Observers on the ground are now telling Bahamas Press that over 3,000 residents on Grand Bahama and ABACO could be confirmed dead in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) retweeted a video showing the extent of the damage already caused by Hurricane Dorian as it ravaged the Bahamas over the past few days. In her post, the freshman lawmaker writes that the video “is what climate change looks like; it hits vulnerable communities first.” “I can already hear climate deniers screeching: “It’s always been like this! You’re dim,” etc,” she wrote. “No. This is about science & leadership. We either decarbonize&cut emissions, or we don’t & let people die.” The minute-long video showed flyover shots of Abaco in the Bahamas with the pilot pointing out...

(CNN)As the Grand Celebration cruise ship sailed away from the Bahamas on a humanitarian mission carrying nearly 1,500 hurricane evacuees, Ceva Seymour looked back at the hundreds of desperate Bahamians left behind at Freeport Harbour. "It was difficult for me to see that other people couldn't get on the ship who probably needed to be there more than me," Seymour, 56, said after arriving in Florida with more than a dozen of her cousins and grandchildren. Seymour, her relatives and all those who stayed behind are among the 70,000 people thrust into homelessness on Grand Bahama and the Abaco Islands...

Florida Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott on Wednesday asked President Trump to waive visa requirements for Bahamians affected by the shattering blow of Hurricane Dorian. The Republican lawmakers sent Trump a letter outlining their reasoning, citing their state's proximity to and relationship with the Bahamas. They asked Trump to make it easier for citizens of the Bahamas to come to the United States to reside with relatives while they rebuild their lives.
  • Agency reverses course on Trump's Alabama hurricane claim (once again, Trump is right)

WASHINGTON — A federal agency reversed course Friday on the question of whether President Donald Trump tweeted stale information about Hurricane Dorian potentially hitting Alabama, upsetting meteorologists around the country. On Sunday, Trump had warned that Alabama, along with the Carolinas and Georgia, was “most likely to be hit (much) harder than anticipated.” The National Weather Service in Birmingham, Alabama, tweeted in response: “Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east.” But the president has been adamant throughout the week that...

President Donald Trump on Thursday dragged another self-created scandal into another day as he defended a map he displayed a day earlier of Hurricane Dorian’s expected path that appeared to have been altered, prompting howls from Democrats and accusations that he was putting lives in danger. White House aides were eager last week to portray a commander in chief as deeply involved in the federal government’s efforts to prepare for and respond to Dorian. The storm even did the Trump team a favor when it turned away from Florida, sparing the Sunshine State the kind of catastrophic direct hit that...

Actor Sean Connery said he is “lucky” to have escaped the destruction left by Hurricane Dorian since he and his wife remained in the Bahamas as the storm passed. Connery stayed in his full-time residence on the island of New Providence with his wife, the painter Micheline Roquebrune, the Daily Mail reported. The storm largely avoided the island where the couple lives, but trees were knocked down and torrential rain and heavy winds were recorded. “We are both fine,” the 89-year-old actor told the Scottish Daily Mail. “We were lucky compared to many others and the damage here was not...

The death toll from devastating Hurricane Dorian will be 'staggering' with thousands still missing, officials have warned amid reports looters are 'trying to shoot people' in the scramble for food and water. Up to 70,000 are in need of 'life-saving assistance' while Great Abaco is said to be virtually uninhabitable, with bodies piled up and witnesses say there is a 'smell of death' with corpses floating in the water. While the official death toll stands at 30, that number is expected to rise today and hundreds of body bags have been ordered along with extra freezers. A massive international relief...

As is usually the case with CNN, hosts are reduced to no more than puppets in Jeffrey Zucker’s play, willfully reading from nearly identical scripts as they peddle their daily doses of venom for not only President Trump, but anyone who stands in the way of their far-left, anti-gun, pro-abortion, and pro-Green New Deal vision (to name a few policies). So for seven hours on Wednesday, CNN’s primetime hosts (Wolf Blitzer, Erin Burnett, Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo, and Don Lemon) began each of the ten 2020 Democratic presidential “climate crisis” town halls by asserting that Hurricane Dorian existed because of...

Since President Trump is being slammed in the mainstream media tonight for "doctoring" a cone-of-uncertainty National Hurricane Center map regarding Hurricane Dorian -- even though he's redeemed himself by actually posting on his social media an official data map of the 'spaghetti straps' starting in Puerto Rico to the US East Coast on 8/28/19 by SFWMD.GOV (South Florida Water Management District), does anyone have an actual NWS data map or NOAA map detailing the same spaghetti straps? CNN political analyst David Gergen said Wednesday that action to counter climate change has become a "moral imperative" as Hurricane Dorian inched its way up the East Coast. During a discussion of a recent trip to Greenland on "CNN Newsroom," Gergen claimed U.S. cities should prepare for massive flooding if polar ice caps continue to melt. “I went [to Greenland] thinking it was a practical imperative to deal with climate change. I came away feeling it’s a moral imperative," he said. "When you see what’s happening in Greenland, it is an early -- it's an early set of signals about...

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Grand Bahama this morning looks a lot like Galveston did on September 9, 1900. – On September 8 of that year, the deadliest hurricane in American history slammed into Galveston Island with winds in excess of 140 mph – which would make it a Category 4 hurricane – and a storm surge that inundated the entire island. Captains and sailors from ships coming into port had been warning islanders for days in advance of a large storm lurking in the Gulf, and a prominent local weather man, Isaac Cline, also tried to...
