I know that the trending topic of the day is the upcoming civil war in America, which would be fought presumably by millennials living in their parents’ basements, led by Geriatric Generals “Auntie” Maxine Waters and Nancy “What Year is This” Pelosi, against 4chan meme-creators led by Field-Marshall Alex “They Turned the Darn Frogs Gay” Jones (famous for his battle cry “The Answer to 1984 is $20 in the Infowars Store”) on the battlefields of the interwebz. If you ask me, it looks like the “Kekistani soldiers” are already winning by a landslide, hence I’d prefer to ignore this stupid...

Hawaii leaders are weighing in on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on Tuesday to uphold President Donald Trump’s travel ban, a policy that put the state at the forefront of a months-long legal challenge. Lt. Gov. Doug Chin, who led Hawaii’s challenge against the travel ban when he served as attorney general, issued a statement saying, “I hurt today for Hawaii families and others who have experienced discrimination and scapegoating due to President Trump's bullying remarks and orders.” Current Attorney General Russell Suzuki agreed and added that the office continues to believe that the travel ban is "unconstitutional."

The total number of crimes reported across Hawaii in 2016 was the lowest since statewide data collection began more than 40 years ago, according to an annual report released Thursday. Some 45,805 crimes were reported statewide last year, a rate of 3,206 offenses per 100,000 residents. That's more than 6 percent below the 2015 report, and 27 percent lower than the crime rate reported in 2007. “The record low crime statistics in 2016 highlight the outstanding work of law enforcement throughout the State and in all four counties," said Doug Chin, Hawaii's attorney general, in a statement that accompanied the...

The U.S. Supreme Court dealt a blow to President Donald Trump on his embattled travel ban today, rejecting his bid to bar entry by some people with family members already in the country. The 6-3 order by the justices — who last month let the president start restricting entry by people from six mostly Muslim countries — means the government must accept people with grandparents, cousins and other relatives in the (snip) Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch dissented from today’s action, saying they would have blocked Watson’s entire ruling.

A federal judge in Honolulu has expanded the Trump administration’s list of family relationships needed by people seeking new visas from six mostly Muslim countries to avoid a travel ban. U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson ruled today that the travel ban exemptions should include grandparents, grandchildren, uncles, aunts and other relatives. President Donald Trump’s travel ban, which was partially allowed by the U.S. Supreme Court, did not include grandparents, grandchildren and other relations considered “bona-fide” family relationships to be granted an exemption to the ban. The administration said a bona fide relationship would be a parent, spouse, fiance, son,...

Hawaii Attorney General Doug Chin says the important thing about the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on President Donald Trump's travel ban is that it won't go into effect for people with a "bona fide" connection to the United States. Chin said Monday that means University of Hawaii students and family members of U.S. citizens may still enter the country. Hawaii sued in March to stop the travel ban, arguing immigration shouldn't be restricted by religion or national origin. The nation's highest court says it will allow a limited version of Trump's ban on travel from six mostly Muslim countries take...

While the RINO-controlled Hawaii Republican Party (HRP) remains silent on yet another consequential issue in 2017 ( as it has done for decades), the Hawaii Republican Assembly (HIRA) has explicitly called for the firing of Democrat Attorney General Doug Chin. The top law enforcement officer in the State of Hawaii has been systematically perverting justice and abusing his office by pursuing a reckless agenda that puts Hawaii's safety at risk.

The state of Hawaii on Friday sued to stop President Donald Trump’s travel ban on people from seven majority-Muslim countries, joining a series of court challenges around the country. Trump’s executive order keeps Hawaii families apart and keeps residents from traveling, state Attorney General Doug Chin said. It degrades values Hawaii has worked hard to protect, he said. “This harms Hawaii’s identity. It harms Hawaii’s most basic values,” Chin said. Trump’s order temporarily bans travel for people from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen. It also temporarily halts the U.S. refugee program.
