I asked for comments from veterans who may be able to tell me if my premise here is wrong. But, I am personally troubled by the willingness of the media to ignore what is possibly a most horrible and disgusting part of Hilary's Benghazi debacle.

The audience applauded Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz's withering criticism of President Obama. Photo by Isaac Epstein/Fosters.com DOVER — More than 150 people visited David and Lydia Scott’s farm off Back Road in Dover on a misty, perfect Sunday morning, to meet Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz. Although the majority were New Hampshire residents, folks like Conrad Baldini made the trek from Salem, Massachusetts. “He is really dynamic,” explained Baldini. “I really look forward to seeing and hearing him in person.” If elected president, Cruz said he would tackle the IRS, illegal immigration, education and the Affordable Care Act, otherwise...

In a stunning move just two days before the season-opening Daytona 500, NASCAR suspended Kurt Busch indefinitely on Friday after a judge said the former champion almost surely strangled and beat an ex-girlfriend last fall and there was a "substantial likelihood" of more domestic violence from him in the future. NASCAR said Busch would not be allowed to race or participate in any NASCAR activities until further notice given the "serious nature of the findings and conclusions" made by the Delaware judge. "Kurt Busch and his Stewart-Haas Racing team are fully aware of our position and why this decision was...

A school board member in one New Hampshire city is looking to bring an end to the high school's football program. In a meeting on Monday, Paul Butler, a retired physician and member of the Dover School Board, claimed that trying to stop football both at the high school and throughout Dover was the "moral" and "ethical" thing to do in light of recent studies on the sport's impact on overall health and well-being. Butler reportedly cited literature that draws a connection between concussions incurred during football and long-term cognitive impacts in his argument. The former physician also claims that...

The policy was in place for four years after being introduced when Labour was in power, but never disclosed to Parliament. It was implemented because the French complained about congestion in Calais caused by backlogs at passport control. Ministers discovered the scheme earlier this month and ended it ten days ago when the Border Agency official in charge of the southern ports was suspended, along with Brodie Clark, the director of the UK Border Force, who was accused of relaxing passport checks at airports on non-European Union citizens without ministers' permission. The Dover scandal has the potential to be bigger...

The Dover Air Force Base mortuary for years disposed of some dead troops’ body parts by burning them and dumping the ashes in a Virginia landfill, a practice that officials have since abandoned in favor of burying the remains at sea. The Dover mortuary, which is the main point of entry for America’s war dead, sent remains to the landfill from 2003 until 2008, according to Air Force officials. The manner of disposal was typically withheld from the relatives of fallen service members. The disclosure comes in the aftermath of several federal investigations into mishandling of remains at the mortuary....

Federal investigators said Tuesday they uncovered “gross mismanagement” at the Dover Air Force Base mortuary that cares for America’s war dead after whistleblowers reported horror stories of lost body parts, shoddy inventory controls and lax supervision. The former mortuary commander and two other senior officials have been disciplined – but not fired -- in response to separate investigations conducted by the Air Force Inspector General, the Secretary of the Air Force and the Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal agency that also received the whistleblower complaints. The grisly findings at Dover echo a similar scandal at another hallowed repository...

Leadership: Disrespecting grieving families, the president sneaks a photographer into the ceremony honoring the SEALs who died in Afghanistan. The presidential scrapbook and campaign are more important. We thought perhaps the White House had received a sufficient dose of condemnation as well as some sensitivity training over a planned Sony film hyping President Obama's "gutsy call" regarding the successful Navy SEAL mission that killed Osama bin Laden. The film was to be released three weeks before the 2012 vote. We were wrong. When 30 U.S. Special Operations forces, including Navy SEALs from SEAL Team 6, the unit that got the...

When the coffins of the fallen Navy SEALS came back to US soil, the Pentagon and the White House closed the event to the press. That's understandable. After all, the Bush administration made similar restrictions for such ceremonies, although Obama overturned the policy. The press complied as well, but when the White House released a photo yesterday of President Obama saluting the coffins at the ceremony, they raised their eyebrows. When Associated Press reporter Ben Feller asked about the photo today at the White House Press briefing, Carney answered:

So Barack Obama made a no media allowed jaunt to Dover Air Force Base today. As if he’d have bothered if his ratings weren’t in the tank. Yet here, shamefully, from whitehouse.gov, are photos of Obama, including this one of Obama, calling it the Photo of the Day. Can it get any more ghoulish?

President Obama will travel to Dover Air Force base later on Tuesday to honor the 22 Navy SEALs and eight other American troops killed in Afghanistan on Saturday when an insurgent shot down their helicopter, according to an administration official familiar with the matter. Obama will head a delegation of senior administration, Pentagon, and military officials who will salute the flag-draped caskets of the troops who died in a rescue mission this weekend in the worst single-day loss of the long Afghan war. The crash in eastern Afghanistan also marked the largest death toll in the history of the U.S....
