Years of questions about how so many DC scandals never ended up with any accountability are now slowly beginning to make sense. Henry Kerner is a missing piece of a very frustrating puzzle… Thanks to the efforts of Judicial Watch, we now find a name at the very heart of some of the most controversial investigative collapses in modern political history. The same John McCain staffer who told the IRS to weaponize their database to target Tea Party groups, was intimately involved in Fast-and-Furious, Benghazi, IRS and now -under the Trump administration- “Spygate”. If you wanted to control or cover-up...

Two top officials at the State Department's Diplomatic Security Service (DS) -- the federal law enforcement agency that protects American diplomats and investigates allegations of criminal misconduct by State Department employees -- gave sworn testimony earlier this year that appears to be evasive at best, and untrue at worst, according to evidence obtained by Fox News. The officials are Scott Bultrowicz, who until Feb. 1 served as director of DS, and Tracy H. Mahaffey, who remains the executive director of DS. In videotaped depositions conducted this past February, Bultrowicz claimed not to know about any claims by a federal agency...

To offer oneself to God, in witness to the Gospel of Life. This is the mission of the Little Sisters Disciples of the Lamb, a contemplative order in France which opens its doors to women who feel a call to religious life, but who may be turned away from other orders because they have Down Syndrome. The community depends on other sisters who do not have Down Syndrome, but who have committed to share their lives with these lovely, holy women. The community was founded in 1985 with the support and encouragement of Jerome Lejeune, the French pediatrician and geneticist whose laboratory...

(Photo courtesy of the Norcia family) This week at CWR we’re featuring two articles on closely related topics: the spread of non-invasive, highly accurate prenatal testing for Down syndrome (and the expected increase in abortion of unborn babies diagnosed with Down syndrome) and recent advances in the search for improved therapies to treat—and possibly reverse the effects of—the chromosomal disorder. We think the two pieces—both interesting and worthwhile on their own, and particularly illuminating when read together—shed light on different aspects of the complicated subject of how individuals with Down syndrome are viewed and treated by our society today....

PETA, the animal rights activist group, has targeted the DS and Wii franchise, Cooking Mama, in its latest campaign against animal cruelty. The groups browser-based game, Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals, features a likeness of the character brandishing a kitchen knife, plucking the feathers and taking out the giblets from a turkey, presumably in preparation for the US holiday, Thanksgiving, of which it is the traditional meal. "Why is PETA picking on poor Mama?" the company explained in a statement. "Because the games are so heavy on dishes made from dead animals that the only things missing are the blood...
