Hacker demonstrates how voting machines can be compromised - CBS News http://www.cbsnews.com/news/rigged-presidential-elections-hackers-demonstrate-voting-threat-old-machines/ Concerns are growing over the possibility of a rigged presidential election. Experts believe a cyberattack this year could be a reality, especially following last month's hack of Democratic National Committee emails. The ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee sent a letter Monday to the Department of Homeland Security, saying in part: "Election security is critical, and a cyberattack by foreign actors on our elections systems could compromise the integrity of our voting process." Roughly 70 percent of states in the U.S. use some form of electronic...

Electronic voting machines—particularly a design called Direct Recording Electronic, or DRE’s—took off in 2002, in the wake of Bush v. Gore. For the ensuing 15 years, Appel and his colleagues have deployed every manner of stunt to convince the public that the system is pervasively unsecure and vulnerable.

While polling data makes it appear pro-life Republicans will take over the Senate from pro-abortion Democrats, whether votes cast on Election Day line up with those polls in another question. And one of the worries some pro-life voters have is whether illegal voting will prevent pro-life candidates from winning. virginiaIn Virginia, early reports are showing that some voters may be having problems getting votes registered properly for the candidates they support. One news report indicates voters have experienced voting errors — including voters who say votes for a Republican candidate have been registered for his Democrat opponent. According to a...

Voting machines that switch Republican votes to Democrats are being reported in Maryland. “When I first selected my candidate on the electronic machine, it would not put the ‘x’ on the candidate I chose — a Republican — but it would put the ‘x’ on the Democrat candidate above it,” Donna Hamilton said. “This happened multiple times with multiple selections. Every time my choice flipped from Republican to Democrat. Sometimes it required four or five tries to get the ‘x’ to stay on my real selection,” the Frederick, Md., resident said last week. Queen Anne County Sheriff Gary Hofmann said...

The Democrat mantra that voting fraud is rare takes another blow today with the stunning story of a GOP candidate unable to vote for himself in Cook County Illinois. The Illinois Political Review reports: Admitting his confidence in Cook County ballot integrity is shaken, State Representative Candidate Jim Moynihan (R-56), was shocked today when he tried to cast a vote for himself and the voting machine cast it for his opponent instead. “While early voting at the Schaumburg Public Library today, I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,†said...

GREENSBORO, N.C. –The presidential election is just around the corner and voting issues have already become a problem in Guilford County. On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote. All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location. One of the voters, Sher Coromalis, says she cast her ballot for Governor Mitt Romney, but every time she entered her vote the machine defaulted to President Obama. “I was so upset that this could happen,” said Coromalis. Guilford County Board of Elections Director George Gilbert says the problem arises...

To paraphrase 15th Century Dutch Philosopher Erasmus’ well-known characterization of women -- "technology, can't live with it, can't live without it." Ever since the debacle that was the vote counting in Florida a dozen years ago, virtually every jurisdiction in the country has moved away from some form of manual voting machine to embrace the technology of electronic voting ("e-voting" for short). Yet, as states and local elections offices have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to institute e-voting, little attention has been paid the potential dangers inherent in this form of vote counting. Indeed, even as many Republican voters...

Exclusive: A laboratory shows how an e-voting machine used by a third of all voters can be easily manipulated It could be one of the most disturbing e-voting machine hacks to date. Voting machines used by as many as a quarter of American voters heading to the polls in 2012 can be hacked with just $10.50 in parts and an 8th grade science education, according to computer science and security experts at the Vulnerability Assessment Team at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois. The experts say the newly developed hack could change voting results while leaving absolutely no trace of the...

The deck is getting smaller and Big Labor’s dream of destroying America is down to a few precious cards. They know the massive backlash against their Marxist plans is building. The showdown is coming quickly. Union hopes of seeing their underhanded Card Check scheme become a reality now rest in the clammy hands of Craig Becker a union puppet lawyer Obama snuck on to the National Labor Relations Board as a recess appointment. “Workers have no rights” Becker is a lackey for both the AFL-CIO and SEIU so his anti American, pro union credentials are in perfect order. BOSTON, MA - Next Tuesday's Special Election for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts looks to be coming down to the wire. I finally found the article that I was looking for regarding a Venezuelan software firm with no experience in elections being involved in the last election fiasco in Venezuela. I suppose it was only a fiasco if you voted against Hugo Chavez. The point of this article was that two software engineers got a loan from the Venezuelan government and started a voting software company called Smartmatic. This company subsequently bought a US voting machine manufacturer called Sequoia. I don't know how to automatically link to the article above, (Tim Golden,NYT,29OCT06), but it goes into much more detail.
