Starting today, Mozilla will turn on by default DNS over HTTPS (DoH) for Firefox users in the US, the company has announced. DoH is a new standard that encrypts a part of your internet traffic that’s typically sent over an unencrypted plain text connection, and which could allow others to see what websites you’re visiting, even when your communication with the website itself is encrypted using HTTPS. Help! I have a three week old HP laptop that was working beautifully until the Microsoft update on 27 August 2019. Since then my browser tabs have been crashing repeatedly throughout every session, and periodically, the computer crashes too. One of the annoying things correlating with an ever-faster Internet is an increase in the number of websites that deem it okay to autoplay videos (often with sound!) as soon as you land on their homepage. It appears Charter is blocking Free Republic in SC. I am able to connect via my Cellphone. My final solution for a good fix: I installed SetupVPN extension in Firefox. Very easy to use, I now have access to Free Republic again. My outage started yesterday around 5 PM, still out. I had this happen once before about 5 years ago., the issue went away after a day.

I am not much of a vanity poster. This morning I have noticed that Firefox had disabled my browser extensions for Ghostery and Adblock plus. I tried to install several other adblock anti-trackers and none of them will install. I have tried to re-install them yet I am denied. I hate to wave goodbye to Firefox as I have been onboard since the Netscape days. But, I cannot get these extensions to install no matter what I do and I will dump them if they want to force the issue

I have a question for browser-savvy FReepers. I downloaded Pale Moon, which seems to be a good browser. A lot of FReepers use it, and that is how I first heard of it. It changed the font size on my email to about 350 percent, and I cannot find a way to reduce it back to 100 percent (i.e., normal size.) Can anyone tell me how to do it? Thank you.
