Two Navy fighter pilots have been grounded for their low flyover at a Georgia Tech football game in downtown Atlanta in November, according to several media reports. The aviators, identified by the Virginian-Pilot newspaper as Lt. Cmdr. Marc Fryman and Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Condon, are both Tech graduates. They flew F/A-18 Super Hornets a few hundred feet above Bobby Dodd Stadium after the national anthem prior to the Tech-Wake Forest game on Nov. 7. Navy rules require flyovers to be done at 1,000 feet or higher, according to NavyTimes. The Navy assigned Fryman and Condon to non-flying jobs. Several videos...

From there, the twin-engine, mid-wing electronic warfare aircraft will reportedly head north, although details on its exact mission are unclear.

For 42 years, the God and Country Rally in Idaho has started its rally with a military fly over. The God and Country Rally is a non-denominational rally that supports American soldiers. For 42 years the Pentagon has carried out the military fly over. Not any more. In Barack Obama’s America, the military is no longer allowed to do such things if the group requesting the fly over is Christian oriented. That’s not an exaggeration.

The Air Force tracked online messaging service Twitter, video-sharing site YouTube and various blogs to assess the huge public backlash to the Air Force One flyover of the Statue of Liberty this spring, according to the documents. And while the attempts at damage control failed - "No positive spin is possible," one PowerPoint chart reads - the episode opens a window into the tactics for operating in a boundless digital news cycle. (snip) According to the Air Force One documents released through the Freedom of Information Act, a unit called the Combat Information Cell at Tyndall Air Force Base in...

---snip--- A barrage of e-mails between officials right after the flight made public Friday showed a flurry of second guessing, finger-pointing, attempts at damage control - even comparisons between them and The Three Stooges. "We ... need to construct some sort of timeline on when folks became aware of it if that is possible," one Air Force official wrote, responding to the public fright. "I agree we .. . need to accomplish damage control, but we aren't the POC (point of contact)," the response reads. "Nor do I want to become a belly button for NORAD to push on this...

Doc dump details Air Force Ones' New York City mishap The documents show that the Air Force carefully tracked the explosion of negative press that ensued after panicked New Yorkers feared the low-flying, circling planes were part of a 9/11-like attack. The e-mails also show various components of the bureaucracy trying to steer clear of the fallout. Many segments of the documents were redacted to protect "deliberative process." For whatever reason, the white-out seems particularly prevalent surrounding a number of exchanges relating to an inquiry about the flight from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) Here's a look at some of the...

Responding to dozens of requests from the public, the Defense Department has released 146 more photos from the infamous Air Force One flyover that struck fear in thousands of unsuspecting New Yorkers in April. The photos are posted right on the Pentagon's Website, defense officials said today. The Pentagon also released a heavily redacted flight manifest. The April 27 photo-op caused quite a fright in Lower Manhattan and New Jersey, as many people who had lived through the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks thought the city was again under siege. Workers poured out of office buildings as the planes buzzed the...

Responding to a Freedom of Information Act request, the Pentagon has released 146 photographs from the ill-fated April Air Force One flyover over Manhattan that resulted in the resignation of White House Military Office director Louis Caldera in May. Air Force spokesman Andy Bourland tells ABC News that there have been several procedural changes to ensure nothing like this ever happens again, with more approval required for proposed flights, and more public affairs involvement to make sure the public and relevant officials have been informed.

The Department of Defense released a flurry of additional photos Friday of Air Force One's controversial Manhattan flyover in April. A total of 146 photos were released of the April 27 incident, which panicked many local citizens and prompted officials in the New York metropolitan area to question why the White House Military Office did not make the mission more broadly known.

This is the moment a a US Navy pilot gave a shocked resident a very close look at his F18. The fighter/bomber streaked past an apartment block on the banks of the Detroit River at the weekend. It was part of a tactical demonstration fly-past to open a speedboat race in the North American city. Officials waived rules to allow the Navy flyers to swoop under 100ft along the waterway. The jets had flown in from the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia to put on a spectacular show for thousands of spectators. The Chrysler Jeep Superstores APBA Gold Cup...

NAMPA -- More than four decades of tradition were changed this year at the God and Country Family Festival in Nampa. Typically, a military flyover is a highlight of the event, but this year it did not happen. To make a fly over happen you have to get permission from the Pentagon. It hasn't been a problem in the past but this year it was --all because of the word "God."

An Idaho community had secured an Air Force flyover for its local festival every year for more than 40 years, organizers say, but this year, the Air Force turned the request down over the festival's religious focus. The God and Country Family Festival in Nampa, Idaho, applied to the Pentagon for the flyover but was denied in an e-mail, board member Patti Syme told KTBV. Syme said the e-mail from a defense official informed her the Pentagon prohibited support of special interest groups. "I called him immediately and just said, you know hey we've been doing this for 42 years,...

The event is held ever year to honor the spiritual foundations of our country with a special emphasis on the men and women who serve in the armed forces. In past years, the "God and Country Rally" has focused on honoring and paying tribute to those...

Homosexual lobbyists have successfully convinced the federal government to spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on AIDS research (when people are dying or suffering from usually non-preventable diseases like pediatric cancer or neurological disorders).

This is a great video. It shows the three aircraft orbiting over the Statue of Liberty during the Air Farce One incident. (The money shot is near the end) The "Red Tail F-16" is clearly a prop. If the George Lucas' film "Red Tails" has, as is likely, a 3D IMAX version, and this sequence were to be used as an epilogue, the camera plane would likely have an external camera mount to attach an IMAX camera. Publicity stills would have been photographed by an air combat photographer during the flight. According to this Wall Street Journal article, the camera...

The Federal Aviation Administration today canceled a military flight scheduled to fly up the Hudson River, New York Police said. A city notification system alerted the public to the flight, set for 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The military plane was supposed to fly down and back up the Hudson River. The type of plane wasn't specified. [snip for photo] Police said the flight had been previously scheduled, likely before the incident two weeks ago when a Boeing 747 used by the president flew over lower Manhattan and caused a brief panic in New York. A White House official resigned...
