PETA has claimed that milk is the drink of ‘white domination’ and is used as a symbol by white supremacists. They are the largest animal rights organisation in the world and according to a blog post from October 2017, drinking milk is “the perfect drink of choice for all (even unwitting) supremacists. ” The international organisation retweeted the blog post on 19 October 2018, restating their assertion that “symbols of (a glass of) milk are also used by ‘extreme right-wing people’.”

It's that time of year again. For those fortunate enough to live in a rural area, you're going to be harvesting deer soon or be given a sample of the harvest. What to do with it? Some say venison has a strong flavor and is dry and tough. But I have friends who can work wonders with it. Those of you who are venison connoisseurs, would you share a favorite recipe? Thanks and happy hunting/eating!

The plea for Tab came across in a message on Facebook. It was Sept. 27, and Anne White saw a post from a neighbor telling her their local grocery store in Cincinnati had been stripped of the diet soda, last popular in the 1980s and now a cult favorite. “I drank my last one a few days ago and I’m suffering from withdrawal,” the neighbor wrote. “Where are you guys getting it?”

How far would you go when you’re really craving pizza? Rickey McCray posted a viral video Tuesday that resonated with Texans, who have been dealing with plenty of flooded roads with all the recent rains. McCray told KENS 5 that Allen ordered the pizza, but the driver couldn’t deliver it because County Road 330 was blocked on Tuesday due to flooding. They told the driver that they would drive to meet him – and their pizza. Allen can be seen with bags over his legs, wading through water that went up past his ankles.

Hardy is a highly-trained U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agriculture Detector dog and he sniffed out the roasted pig’s head in the luggage of a passenger traveling from Ecuador at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Oct. 11. Pizzas must shrink or lose their toppings under Government plans to cap the calories in thousands of meals sold in restaurants and supermarkets. Pies, ready meals and sandwiches will also be subject to the new proposed calorie limits, in a desperate bid to tackle Britain’s obesity crisis. Under the draft proposals, a standard pizza for one should contain no more than 928 calories - far less than many sold by takeaways, restaurants and shops. And the recommendations suggest that a savoury pie should contain no more than 695 calories.

The $36 billion U.S. supplement industry isn't subject to FDA regulation, which both facilitates experimentation and allows products that don't live up to their health claims to flourish. Neil Thanedar has a free market solution: In 2012, he co-founded Labdoor to bring accountability to the supplements industry without quashing its dynamism. The company, which has received backing from venture capitalists Mark Cuban and Y Combinator, buys products right off the shelves, tests them, and then posts the results on its website. The company doesn't currently have the resources to verify whether a given supplement actually delivers its promised effects, testing...

Britain’s highest court on Wednesday said a Northern Irish bakery’s refusal to make a cake bearing a pro-gay slogan was not discriminatory in a ruling condemned by the customer, a gay rights activist, but hailed by the province’s main conservative party. Ashers Baking in Belfast was found guilty of discrimination in 2015 for refusing to make a cake for a customer iced with the words “Support Gay Marriage” because of the owners’ Christian beliefs. It failed in an appeal to the local courts in 2016; but the Supreme Court, the UK’s highest judicial body, overturned that decision on Wednesday, saying...

Sarah was in the fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young pullets and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. She kept records and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so she bought some tiny bells and attached them to her roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so she could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now, she could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report just by listening to the bells. Sarah's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a fine specimen but...

It looked like closing time at the county fair or the week before Christmas at the mall: cars just sitting there, bumper to bumper, waiting their turn to inch along. Dozens of vehicles lined up and down the aisles of the parking lot, honking as if every single driver in front of them was staring at their cellphone while stopped at a green light. It sounded like the traffic jam of the century. But, in fact, it was the Krispy Kreme drive-through at 1:30 a.m. in Dublin — the first to open in the country. The Dublin location opened Sept....

We surveyed dozens of people in the restaurant biz on what they never, ever touch, whether it’s to avoid outrageous markup, food poisoning, or germ minefields. Watch for these offenders. The iceberg wedge salad is one of the industry’s biggest rip-offs. Take into account that iceberg lettuce is about 98 percent water, and it’s easy to see why. “It’s marked up at least 20 times,” says Peter Chastain, executive chef and owner of California’s Prima Ristorante. Plus, germs can hide inside lettuce’s cracks, corners, and edges.
