Two cops and 10 journalists were killed Wednesday when terrorists armed with guns and a rocket launcher stormed the Paris office of Charlie Hebdo, a satirical magazine famous for making fun of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed and Islamic leaders. The three shooters are still on the loose after they fled from the newsroom in Paris' 11th administrative district, about five miles from the Eiffel Tower.

On Wednesday’s “Morning Joe,” former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT) downplayed any ties of gunmen that killed 12 at the offices of a French satirical magazines in Paris have to the religion of Islam. According to Dean, we should stop attributing the “Muslim” label to them because they fall in line with a cult that is able to overcome France’s strict gun laws to carry out such an attack. “You know, this is a chronic problem,” Dean said. “I stopped calling these people Muslim terrorists. They’re about as Muslim as I am. I mean, they have no respect for whatever anybody...
  • Time Magazine 2011: Charlie Hebdo 'Begged' for 'Violent Responses From Extremists'

Time Magazine's Bruce Crumley, Time's Paris Bureau Chief in 2011 wrote this about Charlie Hebdo: Okay, so can we finally stop with the idiotic, divisive, and destructive efforts by “majority sections” of Western nations to bait Muslim members with petulant, futile demonstrations that “they” aren’t going to tell “us” what can and can’t be done in free societies? Because not only are such Islamophobic antics futile and childish, but they also openly beg for the very violent responses from extremists their authors claim to proudly defy in the name of common good. What common good is served by creating more...

It was France's deadliest terror attack in living memory. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said security forces were hunting for three gunmen after the noon-time attack on the weekly, whose caricatures of the Prophet Muhammed have frequently drawn condemnation from Muslims. Twelve people died and eight were wounded, including four critically, officials said.
