When then-Lance Cpl. Javier Ortiz came home from a secret mission in Syria, the ghost of a dead girl appeared to him in his kitchen. She was pale and covered in chalky dust, as if hit by an explosion, and her eyes stared at him with a glare as dark and heavy as oil.The 21-year-old Marine was part of an artillery gun crew that fought against the Islamic State group, and he knew that his unit’s huge cannons had killed hundreds of enemy fighters. The ghost, he was sure, was their revenge.A shiver went through him. He backed into another...

Archaeologists unearthed the remains of a 17th-century child padlocked to his grave in southeastern Poland, Reuters reported Monday. VIDEO AT LINK............. The child, aged six or seven, was found in a cemetery in Pien, about 170 miles south of Warsaw, according to the Reuters report. The child reportedly was found buried face down and padlocked by his feet to the grave with a triangular padlock in what appears to be an effort to prevent it from resurrecting from the dead to feast on the living. The discovery suggested that the people of that era firmly believed in vampires, ghosts, zombies,...

Though he's well-known for haunting opposing team's pitching staffs, Dodgers' star outfielder Mookie Betts has opted for alternative living accommodations during their three-game series against the Brewers after hearing too much about one hotel with a ghostly reputation. Instead of joining the rest of the team at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, Betts will be staying with some friends at a rented Airbnb until the team heads back on the road come Wednesday. The luxurious hotel, which ranks as one of the most haunted hotels in the country, opened back in the 1800, and has as much of a...

Elon Musk revealed today that he will delete 1.5 billion user accounts from Twitter that have not been viewed in years or sent any tweets. To free up desired online handles and names is the official justification stated. However, I could only see that if these accounts were somehow taken over to boost follower numbers or like posts—they couldn’t have been used for other objectives. It’s possible that these accounts could have been utilized as automated user bots. I don’t think this adjustment will resolve Twitter’s pervasive bot problem, you know—the ones we argue with who appear to back every Biden idea;...

The chain is also celebrating Halloween with a Ghost Pepper Whopper on an orange bun.Have you been hearing unsettling sounds in your house at night, like sudden thumps, unexpected creaks, or strange footsteps making their way up the stairs? That's right: this Halloween, you don't have to Google "How do I call the Ghostbusters," you just have to download the...

It amazes me that Christians believe in the Bible, but most do not recognize spirit attachment as real. Removing attached spirits was a very common healing method for Jesus. In 1993 a 38 year old Emergency Room nurse came to me for pain management using hypnosis. I had just learned hypnosis and a mutual friend told her about me. She had a letter from her Dr. I requested stating that it was ok to use hypnosis as pain management, as pain is a symptom and blocking it may result in not detecting a serious illness like cancer. The pain in...

It seems like every vintage building still standing in Arizona has a story to tell – and sometimes these tales include a ghost or two. Just ask the proprietors of Casey Moore’s in Tempe, Tombstone’s Birdcage Theatre, or the Hotel Monte Vista in Flagstaff, all of whom claim their places are the domain of specters, spirits, or other supernatural phenomena. You could also hit up Marshall Shore, the local “hip historian” who's familiar with many of these tales. It’s one of the reasons he conducts walking tours around downtown Phoenix every October that explores some of the city's more infamous...

The pain of losing a spouse is pretty incomparable, and it can be particularly harrowing when the surviving spouse is now suddenly a single parent. Most couples don’t ever expect to raise their kids without their partner, but the reality is sometimes life has different plans. One mom sadly lost her husband just a few months after their youngest of four turned 7-months-old. While nothing can fill the void of a lost partner and parent, the mom swears that there are signs that he is always around, and she even feels her little boy can see him. Honestly, the video...

Club-going Mayor Eric Adams is a man who likes to boogie. Now he also apparently believes in the boogeyman. Adams turned his attention from the Bronx Bombers to the Manhattan boo-ers as he broke news in the Yankees press box during Tuesday’s game: Gracie Mansion is haunted. “I don’t care what anyone says, there are ghosts in there, man,” Hizzoner told Yankees announcers Michael Kay and Cameron Maybin, who invited him into the booth after the mayor tossed out the first pitch. Adams laughed while confirming he sees stuff moving around and hears footsteps in the stately 223-year-old country house...

UCSC science writers examine the evidence for ghost hunting, chemtrails, cryptozoology and moreEach year, the graduate students of UCSC’s Science Communication Program research a different topic for the first GT issue of the new year. This year, with so much abuse and misuse of science floating around, especially on social media, we decided to take on the topic of pseudoscience. It’s a wildly varied list of subjects, and whether they’re fun and seemingly harmless, have implications for believers’ pocketbooks, or are the basis for sinister conspiracy theories, it’s edifying to know their scientific basis—or lack of one—and to consider...

Today, the Dakota building in New York City is famous for being the last home where John Lennon lived and for being the site of his horrible murder, but this building has a long and detailed history of paranormal activity. Even Lennon himself, who was open to the paranormal, witnessed a UFO from the window of his apartment and also encountered the apparition of a woman walking down the long halls of the building, who he named the Crying Lady Ghost. Other celebrities and notable figures who have lived in that building have also had very similar experienced. Maury Povich...

Monsters and ghosts may be Halloween icons, but true spirit chasers know most of them are mere child’s play compared to those told in Latino folklore. That’s because tales of the supernatural have intrigued and enriched Hispanic culture throughout history — especially on holidays like Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), coming on the heels of Halloween on Nov. 1, and through the haunting legends that find their way into pop culture all year round. Thanks to depictions in films and shows ranging from Supernatural and Disney’s Coco to episodes of South Park and The X-Files, folks...

But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out for fear. —Matthew 14:26 I have always liked Halloween as a joke that’s hard to get. The joke, as I see it, is that death is something to smile about, even laugh about. G.K. Chesterton saw things similarly and wrote winkingly in his poem “The Skeleton”: Death was but the good King’s jest, It was hid so carefully. And that jest certainly is carefully hidden, especially to those in this “muddy vesture of decay,” as Shakespeare called our...

Its outlines are faint, only discernible at an angle, but the world’s oldest drawing of a ghost has been discovered in the darkened vaults of the British Museum. A lonely bearded spirit being led into the afterlife and eternal bliss by a lover has been identified on an ancient Babylonian clay tablet created about 3,500 years ago. It is part of an exorcist’s guide to getting rid of unwanted ghosts... ...As a world authority on cuneiform, a system of writing used in the ancient Middle East, Finkel realised that the tablet had been incorrectly deciphered previously. The drawing had been...

The housing market is tight all around New England these days, but among the selling points for most homes, rarely is “haunted by a witch” high on the list. That’s a big part of the terrifying charm of the house on Round Top Road in Harrisville, Rhode Island — that, and the fact that the house was part of the inspiration behind the horror movie franchise “The Conjuring,” the eight movies from which have grossed more than $2 billion. And that’s precisely why Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, longtime residents of the Maine town of Mexico and paranormal investigators, bought it...

A would-be ghostbuster got busted up when she fell 15 to 20 feet through the roof of an abandoned train station in Buffalo, local reports said. The 35-year-old woman and a man were taking part in a paranormal investigation of the Buffalo Central Terminal on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. when she plunged through the top of a substation, according to reports. She was rushed to a local hospital and treated for multiple unspecified injuries, The Buffalo News stated. The ghost-hunting pair didn’t have permission to be on the property, which hasn’t seen a train in 42 years. SNIP

While Noel, 42, might have nerves that are steelier than most, he does admit there are times when fear takes over. One such occasion was when he and his crew were filming at Istana Woodneuk. "I recall being on the second floor (of the building) and something just told me, 'You have to get out there like right now. You have to leave'. "So this is something I tell people that follow me on my paranormal investigations. If you feel fear, you've got to try not to be afraid. But if something tells you to get out, you have to...

My fav Halloween movie has always been The Haunting, 1963, derived from Shirley Jackson’s novel, The Haunting of Hill House. My father encouraged me to read the novel when I was pretty young, 12 or so. I do think it greatly influenced me, as I went on to believe the house was haunted. I now think that was probably teenagers imagination. But the movie was so well done. It very much is an art form. What is yours?
