Police in the Cincinnati suburb of Sharonville say they believe Ann Fukuyama committed suicide Sunday at Target World, a public range that sells and rents guns and has a dozen 25-yard target shooting lanes. Shooting accident kills man at Houston gun range A man was fatally shot during an accident at a west Houston gun range, police said. The 45- to 50-year-old man died after he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at American Shooting Centers in the 16500 block of Westheimer Parkway, Houston police said. The incident happened about 6:40 p.m. Authorities say they believe the injuries were caused by a rifle. No other details were immediately available Wednesday night.

A group of homeowners who live near a gun club have standing to sue the club for dumping lead and other ammunition-related pollutants into the surrounding area, a Connecticut federal court has ruled . (Tallahassee-AP) -- House Speaker Johnnie Byrd says he would consider a proposal to make gun owners pay for the cleanup of shooting ranges that have resulted in environmental damage. But Byrd was quick to point out Friday that the idea did not come from his office. Byrd said Thursday that some sort of charge levied on ammunition or guns could be one of the primary sources of money for the cleanups.
