Oscar-winner Tom Hanks thinks America is going to be just “fine” if Donald Trump earns the GOP presidential nomination — though he adds it will be a “hilarious” and exhausting general election season if the billionaire candidate wins the Republican nomination.

WASHINGTON: The famous African explorer Dr David Livingstone might have been impressed, even if the agenda was suspect. Pakistan’s disgraced nuclear proliferator-hero Abdul Qadeer Khan traversed the breadth of Africa in his hey day as a nuclear salesman , going to as romantic a getaway as Casablanca in Morocco and as remote an outpost as Timbuktu in Mali. US officials might dearly like to get hold of Khan’s travel agent, or simply his itinerary, since he seems to have pretty much charted his own course during his profligate proliferating days. According to accounts now surfacing in the Pakistani media,...

......The two-minute clip shows Hanks hosting the castaway-themed auction in a room decorated to look like a jungle at the £18,000-a-year St Matthew’s Parish School in Pacific Palisades, California. As the blacked-up man takes the stage, Hanks quips that the Right-wing US commentator Bill O’Reilly, who has himself often been accused of racial insensitivity, has arrived....... ..........Hanks, who starred in the 2000 Hollywood film Castaway, recently narrated a 17-minute campaign video calling for President Barack Obama’s re-election. In response to the auction video, Niger Innis, of the Congress of Racial Equality, said: “I call upon President Obama, who has Tom...

Tom Hanks has made a mockery of himself by participating in the Barack Obama ridicumentary "The Road Traveled." The single most ludicrous phrase, arguably ever, uttered by Hanks was "He would not dwell in blame" [VIDEO AT SITE] Never mind that the movie is an obsequious love story. It's also riddled with inaccuracies. Never mind that. "He would not dwell in blame."Good grief. It's ALL Obama does. Brit Hume wondered how Hanks could blather those words without coughing. Obama lives to blame. He revels in blaming others. A Google search for "Obama blames Bush" yields 4,400,000 hits. Curiously, the first...

I’ve just sat through the 17 minute homage to Barack Obama narrated by Tom Hanks. How is it possible that Barack Obama’s approval rating is even close to 50%? Why isn’t it 100%? According to Hanks, Barack Obama is the real deal. Fearless. Intrepid. Selfless. And most of all: Successful. Like Lincoln before him, the events of the day forced his hand and the resulting display of courage and skill showed the greatness of the man. Like most of what Hollywood creates, this movie is fiction, utterly devoid of a real connection to the real world. In reality, Barack Obama...

Video footage obtained by The Daily Caller shows Hollywood screen legend Tom Hanks and Eagles musician Glenn Frey at a 2004 fundraising auction, playfully interacting with a white man dressed as an African native, complete with blackface makeup and a giant Afro wig. Hanks most recently provided the narration for ”The Road We’ve Traveled,” a 17-minute-long campaign video meant to help President Barack Obama win re-election in November. The fundraiser, held March 13, 2004 at St. Matthew’s Parish School in Pacific Palisades, Calif., featured Hanks and Frey as co-emcees. Children of both men attended the school. The event’s theme, “Castaways,”...

For those of you who don't know, Raw Story is an openly left-wing site. If the falsehood about GM repaying their bailout is so glaring that even a Raw Story feels compelled to point it out, some re-shoots might be in order. Hopefully, the doc's narrator, Tom Hanks, is available to record something closer to the truth this time. My guess is that he'll make time even if he is rushing into production a HBO "docu-drama" called "Mitt Romney's Three Wives" -- which at this point would surprise no one. Raw Story: The Obama 2012 campaign has released a short...

Ten years after New York was hit by an unbearable act of savagery, the gloves have come off in Hollywood. A new movie genre has emerged that’s bound to dazzle and nauseate every breathing American... I’ll call it . . . 9/11 porn. Osama bin Laden would have loved this. The Internet and TV have been ablaze for a month with unavoidable advertisements for “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close,” a movie that does for the monsters who brought down the World Trade Center what “Triumph of the Will” did for a guy named Adolf. ...it’s a tale about love, loss...

TMZ tracked down Bristol Palin's heckler -- the one who screamed, "Your mother's a whore!" at a West Hollywood bar last night, and he's not ashamed at all. Stephen Hanks is a 47-year old L.A. consultant who would not say what he consults on. He did, however, tell us this was not a setup. As for Hanks' thoughts on Bristol's comment -- jumping to what turns out to be the correct conclusion that he's gay -- he has more choice words for Sarah's little girl.

Some wonder how the Hollywood elite manage to make movies, build castles on prime real estate, fill their factory-sized garages with foreign sports cars, and still find the time to impress the great unwashed with their unequaled intelligence on political matters. As is often the case, sometimes it is best to stick with your day job.

Three weeks to save Hollywood signThursday, March 25, 2010 » 03:22pm A conservation group says it has just three weeks to raise 3 million US dollars to save the iconic Hollywood sign from being razed by investors who want to build luxury houses on the site. Tim Ahern of the Trust for Public Land says they feel they have a good chance of doing that. The group needs to raise money to reach the 12.5 million US dollars needed to purchase the 55-hectare parcel of rugged land surrounding the sign from a Chicago-based consortium that has acquired rights to build...

Don Imus, for one, is not surprised by Tom Hanks' recent comments calling WWII and the War on Terrorism racist crusades undertaken by the United States. First brought to his attention by "Imus in the Morning" producer Bernard McGuirk on the show, the remarks were news to the host - just not shocking news. "Oh darn, what a surprise. We have another panty-wearing liberal dickweed from Hollywood - of course!" Imus told McGuirk. McGuirk dubbed Hanks "Tehran Tom" for remarks the actor made March 5 on-set of MSNBC to promote "The Pacific," the HBO mini-series he helped produce.

Much has been written of the recent Tom Hanks remarks to Douglas Brinkley in a Time magazine interview about his upcoming HBO series on World War II in the Pacific. Here is the explosive excerpt that is making the rounds today. “Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as ‘yellow, slant-eyed dogs’ that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what’s going on today?” Hanks may not have been...

It was two degrees this morning when I left Poca, West Virginia, for work at six. But that was not as cold as I felt after reading this at noon on the Fox News site: “Tom Hanks Says Mormon Supporters of Proposition 8 ‘Un-American’.” Now I am willing to sacrifice my life, if necessary, to defend his right to spew whatever vile, hateful, ignorant, demented, loathsome, ugly and foolish remarks he may make. But I also reserve my right to call his remarks vile, hateful, ignorant, demented, loathsome, ugly and foolish. Readers can decide for themselves whether what he said...

Heath Ledger's win wasn't the only thing that got stars emotional backstage at the Globes Prop 8 did it, too! "It's un-American," Tom Hanks, who nabbed a Globe for producing the terribly popular John Adams, told me. I asked Hanks, one of the Biz's most politically astute members, why he thought the gay-marriage-banning proposition had passed, helped largely by huge sums of media money funneled through the pro-Prop 8 Mormon church. "You put some good commercials on the air," deadpanned (accurately) the two-time Oscar winner, "you can convince anybody of anything."

A promo for the pacific aired on Australian TV last night (channel 7 Brisbane) after the fireworks. It was a short clip a beach landing, close ups of some of the main characters, lots of explosions and shots of young soldiers looking terrified before hitting the beach, very intense. Can't wait to see it. Just found the clip at http://whatsonthetube.net/2009/01/01/coming-to-seven-in-%e2%80%9909/Scroll down a bit and it starts at 3:00 (timer counts down) Enjoy!

In an obvious attempt to be ignored for a while, Tom Hanks with no fanfare, news release or hoopla, late tonight put up a video on his MySpace page endorsing Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president. Had it come on, say, a Monday morning, the endorsement by the popular and widely-respected Hanks would have caused seismic shifts on those rock shelves that underlie Hollywood and promise to slide the place into the ocean someday. Thanks to The Times' dauntless Tina Daunt, The Ticket, however, is right on top of this major international political story. "BEWARE," says the headline on Hanks'...
