Governor Palin is ready for the next chapter of her publishing career. Publisher HarperCollins announced Wednesday that the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate is working on a "celebration of American virtues and strengths." The book is currently untitled and no release date has been set. Her new work will "include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have inspired her, as well as portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her love of country, faith, and family," the publisher's statement reads.

Mike Allen at Politico reports: HarperCollins has gone back to press on “Going Rogue,” so the number of shipped books will be well over 1.5. Prepaid orders on Amazon alone are over 80,000. A second printing before the book has even hit store shelves. Seems quite impressive to me.

According to a Facebook status update on behalf of the restaurant, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is here in New York and dined at Michael's last night. She's in town to visit with her publisher, HarperCollins, and has been doing "fun kids things" during her stay here with her family. It all sounds innocent enough, except for the Michael's part. Michael's is not only a Northeastern elite power-lunching spot, it is the very epicenter of the liberal media — the very men, women, and reporters who are out to get her.

Governor Palin tells POLITICO that widespread blogosphere reports about a possible divorce from her husband, Todd, are “made up.” In a brief telephone interview on Tuesday night, Palin quipped that she loves finding out “what’s goin’ on in my life from the news.” “Do you want to talk to Todd?” she teased. “He’s sitting right next to me.” But he didn’t come on the line.

After threat of a libel suit, the publisher HarperCollins is taking the rare step of destroying its inventory of a new book that attacks James J. Cramer, the journalist and former hedge fund manager. James A. Fox, vice president and general counsel of HarperCollins, conceded in a letter to Mr. Cramer's lawyer that three pages of the book, "Trading With the Enemy," by Nicholas W. Maier, contained false assertions that Mr. Cramer had traded on inside information about the Western Digital Corporation.
