Police are hunting for the suspect, a tall, light-skinned Hispanic man with a thin build and a tattoo of three dots next to his eye. Police in Hempstead — one of the Long Island towns where the violent gang has a stronghold — were tipped off to the threat Wednesday by a “credible” informant, the NYPD memo said.

SALT LAKE CITY — One woman was killed and at least five others were hospitalized after a vehicle struck them in what police called a hit-and-run incident Tuesday night. Salt Lake City police Lt. Justin Hudson said shortly after 6 p.m., police were dispatched to a call of a vehicle traveling on the sidewalk at a high rate of speed, striking people. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has knocked down an Obama administration request to lift a stay issued earlier this year on the implementation of President Obama's December 2014 executive action on illegal immigration. Two US military aircraft have been fired at during an evacuation mission in South Sudan, wounding two service personnel.
