Border Patrol agents at the I-35 checkpoint north of Laredo stopped a smuggling attempt November 23 after finding 38 undocumented immigrants in a trailer. Agents say they were conducting an immigration inspection on the driver of the tractor trailer when a canine alerted the agents of something suspicious. After searching, officials found the undocumented immigrants inside. Of the immigrants, 31 were men, six were adult women and one was a child. They came originally from Honduras, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Mexico, El Salvador, Brazil and Nicaragua.
